  1. Past hour
  2. Looks like the kinda thing @binky_bass would go for
  3. This is something you don't see that often: A BassLab Custom DN VII, so a double neck fretted and fretless, 7 strings for each neck and weighing 7.7 kilos, which is not that heavy for such a monster. For sale at a very decent price (now) on Reverb (located in Germany, for those interested).
  4. Just thought I’d add the weight - 3.6kg according to my bathroom scales.
  5. This is my MIK Spector Q4 pro, it’s in pretty much spotless condition, there are no marks I am aware of on this bass. I bought it from BassBros a while back and love it, however I have just purchased another (sadly, more expensive Spector ) so this has to go. It’s set up lovely, sounds just like a Spector should, it has the EMGHZ twin soap bar pickups and the EMG BTS circuit and this model has a non curved body. It’s a lovely bass. I do have packaging or collection or meet within 1hr drive of Milton Keynes. Any questions, just ask. Cheers Steve
  6. I keep meaning to give that a try… 👍
  7. 3.4kg according to my bathroom scales. Not sure how accurate they are, but that’s what they say.
  8. It's like a buggy, but for bass. 🤔🤦🏻🤪
  9. I prefer the other comp, the photo comp. 😉
  10. Hahaha good try. Joking aside, personally having a bass like that go free to someone who will appreciate what it is, is far preferable to selling it dirt cheap. Of course they could just sell it and make a killing but hopefully I will find a keen buyer.
  11. Hi, using my trusty scales, it weighs in at 4.2 KG, which rounds up to 9.3lbs Not sure but it has Bart pickups, which is the same as the later models e.g. SR5005. I would guess late?
  12. Hi all Recent left handed bass learner here (this week!) Been learning the guitar for 2/3 years and have had a hankering for the bass and so here I am! I have gotten myself a Squier CV 70s Jazz Bass and a Fender Rumble 40 and have just started the Beginner to Badass course and am loving it! Looking forward to being part of these fora!
  13. So… all these set ups, but not many folk entering the Basschat monthly composition competition, or maybe you used to? It’s not a serious competition, just making something up based on a photo chosen by the previous months winner. September’s comp will be pinned in the Recording section sometime on the 1st or 2nd.
  14. what is a bass buggy? Any pictures of it?
  15. Cheers Ray 👍 My day job space is behind that couch, with the desk facing the basses. Some days it makes me go off for little play breaks, other days it’s a motivating reminder why I work full time as 2 of those basses still need fully paying off 🙄 and i feel lucky to now have the spare room, but not the mortgage 😬

  17. The high quality of modern instruments puts me off buying a vintage instrument.
  18. Played to a packed out crowd at Didmarton Bluegrass festival. Lovely gig and people.
  19. These days, it seems quite a popular deed, so here is mine. Music Man Stingray EX, ebony fingerboard, originally 3EQ preamp. The latter is now replaced with a 2EQ M05400 (once again, thank you very much @Hellzero). The treble pot is C500k. Strung with Ernie Ball Extra Slinky 40-95.

  20. I bought a used Bass Buggy and it’s absolutely brilliant. I played at a festival today and it made it so simple to transport the bass. Why, oh why, didn’t I but one earlier? Just wanted to express that really.
  21. That's the long term plan, but for her buying things is apparently a very intensive process, fraught with second guessing and indecision. Possibilities have to researched, options examined, costs scrutinized. I, on the other hand, tend to go "ooh shiny" and get my card out.
  22. Selling my 'as new' Guitar Sound Systems Sumo 1000W power amp. Note that this is the 1,000 Watt version - the big brother of the popular 'Baby Sumo'. This is a highly rated hi-fi power amp for bass or guitar, built by a boutique company in France and very sought after, but I am sure you already know that if you are reading this. Great to use with a pre-amp (or pre-amp pedal). I bought this new in March 2024, as an extra option to use at gigs in bigger venues. However, only used it about two times, as it turns out that for the gigs I am playing my 600W Eden amplifier is perfectly capable. (What was I thinking!). As I like to keep my gear as lean as possible, I am letting go of this little treasure. Comes with its own hard carrier case. Note that the manufacturer website new price is €550, however you need to add shipping costs (brings the total to £500) PLUS import taxes (£112) to bring it in the UK. That all adds up to £612 to buy it new. Dimensions of amp: 5.2 x 3.2 x 10 inches / 13 x 8 x 26 centimeters (Width x Height x Depth). Weighs 4.4 lbs/ 2kg. Specs: Power: 1000 Watts over 4 Ohms; 500 Watt over 8 Ohm; 250 Watt over 16 Ohm. THD (at full power): < 0,1 % Input impedance: 10 K Ohm Power voltage: 100-240 Volt ac 50/60Hz Frequency response (-1dB): 20-20000 Hz I can ship at buyer's costs (no carrier pickups, I do the mail out), but also fine with pick up or meet. My location is mid-Wales.
  23. When k saw the listing I thought you would…
  24. Agree. The back of the headstock looks very different too. Never seen something like that. Check it out:
  25. Same pick up as in the equally weird Fender Abuelo ?
