A jam night PA playlist -
Sold Paul an Adam Clayton Jazz - met up halfway and was great to deal with - quick at replying and by looks of it one happy customer - the jazz wasnt for me bit seems it's found its home.

Although I regularly use Helix for headphone practice, I found the bass amps to be more quality over quantity when i started recording with them.

I re-ripped a load of Smashing Pumpkins stuff to FLAC over the last few days, so am working through the back catalogue. Oddly cohesive, to be honest, even the wife hasn't bellyached about it. -

This was on my board for a few years, never let me down but just fancied a change so I’ve got a boss chorus on the board now. The toneprint options make it a pretty versatile pedal, found myself mostly using the Duff McKagan toneprint. No original box for this unfortunately but will be packaged securely. Price includes postage in the UK, cheers

Got this in a trade on here recently but it’s just not got much use. Between the green Russian and the grey stache that I own I have my fuzz needs covered. This one is two big muffs running in parallel, one of them has a standard tone control, the other has a mid boost/cut. Certainly a lot to play with and a lot of sounds to be gotten out of it! No original box with this but will be packaged securely. Price will include postage in the UK

Nice one. I've now bought one of them. I was considering being cheap and buying a big storage bag, but can't get the right size and it wouldn't be that much cheaper anyway.

Saw them live on Saturday night, alongside Spread Eagle (whose bass player is also in UFO). -
Does anyone know if the string tension of Harley benton 40-95 rounds are similar to Thomastik flats 43-100? I currently have HB rounds on my bass, fancy a change from rounds to flats, but don't want to adjust the truss rod if possible, as it's accessed at the heel on my fender, making it a bit of a fuss to mess around with.

Warwick setup questions
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE replied to RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE's topic in Repairs and Technical
Okay, I’ve taken strings out ( well done 👏) ,and had a look at the saddles etc. I also put strings in the relevant nut slots ( leaving the G and E strings off the bass). From what I can see , it looks like I’d be able to have a 5 string set on there omitting the G . Putting the strings back on is a pita , so they are left off . I’ve left a message with a tech at my nearest shop ,asking if it’s possible for them to fit a 5 string set on the bass. I await their reply by phone . The shop don’t do Warwick strings , but I’d assume that with the techs filing and endurance and experience they will be able to fit a set of dadarrios on there . -

Hi John, hopefully someone with the light will get back to you but I've found all the lights I've had in the last ten use use a very similar protocol as @Woodinblack says. The menu button simply cycles through the options. Sound is usually Soun but on some of mine it is just Sn )and could be something else too I suppose. confusingly some of my lights have Sn as sensitivity) pressing 'Enter' should take you into the sub menus and one of the menu options will be sound but maybe not labelled as such. Check the battery on the remote, I've had ones dead on arrival, they are usually a 3V lithium button cell CA2032 or CA 2016

Is 'too much preamp' fair, given at least some of that is design. There are purely passive basses, passive basses with some control over gain and cut of two or three audio ranges (possibly Sadowsky, I can't really remember to be honest, but certainly perhaps a Precision with an East P-Retro circuit), and basses who's output is probably more a function of the circuit than of the otherwise passive instrument housing it, which in my experience would be Wal, Status, and EBBM. Whether with the latter you hear to much of the preamp is a horses for courses question perhaps?

Ernie Ball getting into the string mute game
LeftyJ replied to PinkMohawk's topic in Accessories and Misc
Agreed, the price of a Nordymute is just silly for what it is. And still I bought two I've got one with 19mm spacing and one with 17mm spacing. I agree a triangular shape would have been massively better! I put mine on at an angle for that reason, but then it's not very firmly attached. They're a ton of fun though! -
Please share your experience of the Ampeg PF-50T
Beedster replied to ossyrocks's topic in Amps and Cabs
Glorious amp, loud for its size, and as above, the post power stage DI means that while it won't hold it's own on a noisy stage, you can get that same tone through the PA. I kinda wish I'd kept mine especially when I'm lugging several hundred watts of all-tube amp around 👍
