$4000 down to $450 is always a bit suspect, but it does look cool! -

Have you tried loosening the black screw on top? It could be a locking screw. -

I have a prejudice against "the street" as a place. To me the "street" isn't a place itself, it's what you use to get to places. I don't have time for "street culture", but then I don't think the label is helpful. So I roll my eyes when I see food advertised as "street food", even though I sometimes enjoy some. The food itself isn't "street" by nature, it's just a label. -

This lovely condition 2023 Aubergine Fender American Performer Mustang is for sale/trade. It's been with me for a few months and is set up beautifully with 40-95 Elixirs (of course!) Plays like a dream and is in excellent condition with no scratches or dings that I can see. It has only been used for one set on one gig in our live tribute show, so it's not earning its keep and therefore has to go. Comes complete with bill of sale from original owner and the original Fender Deluxe Gig Bag & case candy. The American Performer Mustang is also another instrument in the line (since the Highway 1 series Jazz/Precision) which utilises the 'Grease Bucket' tone control, which lowers tone without losing bass/volume. I would record you a demo, but I'll let 'Nick Campbell Destroys' do the honours below - he does a lot better job than me! For sale at £825. (Recommended retail price on these is now nearly £1400 these days!) Interesting trade options considered. Buyer to collect, or can meet half way at a distance of up to 100 miles from DE7.

I bought a body a while back and have just got to the point of being able to add the neck (hooray) so it's the first time I have noticed the string spacing setup - and it varies currently between 20 and 15 mil between different strings. I want to get it back to the comfy 19mm everywhere but I can't work out how to adjust the black barrel bits. They seem like they should twist to move but I can't work out how.....

Company I worked at for ten years ran a Paul Smith line. Wristwatches. Made in China, hideously overpriced, garishly designed, same innards/movements as the products we used to put into Argos for £20.00 a pop. People are stupid.

And back on planet earth. Building contractor sorry guv we are booked solid for the next 8 months with actual real jobs that we have been to the property and provided a quote for. Edit: I don’t know your area but the building contractor guys i know doing big jobs like lofts and extensions don’t work on ifs and maybe. There are too many third parties to keep on the right side of and permanent staff to pay to do this. -

That's cool, it's like a Fodera Monarch and an Ibanez JEM had a lanky baby -
Welcome to BC @DanDoesBass I'm a paid up member of the Mustang Brotherhood - which is weird, because a few years ago I would have laughed at the idea. I bought the '66 Mustang on a whim and fell in love with it, especially with rounds. Since I had it modified with new pickups it's become my favourite bass. I realised that short scale would be really well suited for fretless, given the additional weight afforded to the higher strings. I bought the '72 Musicmaster and a fretless Mustang neck to test that idea, and it's fantastic. Shortly the bass is going to a local luthier who is doing a few other bits such as correcting the electronics, replacing the bridge and possibly epoxy coating the board.

These tuners came from a JMJ Roadworn Mustang but I assume they will fit any Fender with a similar post size and screw pattern. They are full size tuners with a wider post unlike the Gotoh version that was made to fit the MIJ Mustang basses. I’m sorry I don’t know the model number. They have been lightly aged so wouldn’t look out of place on a vintage Fender needing a better quality tuner. They come with mounting screws and ferrules. Pickup preferred but I can post at buyer’s cost UK only. Thanks

Lovely basses but I sold mine due it not getting enough use. I have a 2012 2 eq EB Ray under the bed if the need arises. Ian

It would be good if the OP would come back and actually explain what he means by his question. 🤔
