  1. Past hour
  2. Which, the white or amber? I've a sunburst sonic P with laural or whatever the faux rosewood is, instead of standard maple, with gold anodised vintra pickguard. Looks great, sounds really good with flats. Really like the narrow neck, nice and fast.
  3. Does anyone know if this pedal is available anywhere or is it just a case of joining the waiting the list 😪 Everywhere I looked was out of stock.
  4. That sounds like it. I did turn it off
  5. Dave bought a pedal from me, quick payment, excellent comms, thanks very much indeed 🙂 Si
  6. I thought it was dreadful and changed channels
  7. I've just installed a pair of these on a Modern Prometheus. They're fantastic pickups.
  8. Quilter BassBlock is fully transparent at lower gain settings.
  9. Came here to say this I've seen one of the two made in the flesh, at a Fender Custom Shop clinic in the Netherlands. Master builder John English was there to take the audience through their relicing process, which was really informative and interesting, and they had some cool Custom Shop instruments on display. One of those was the Tye Zamora bass.
  10. I’d kind of be interested. Recently I was looking at a Warmoth Fender build - funnily enough in Sherwood Green like @Beedster 👌 I know their wood is high quality and I like the options. But they have reputation, and for any new-starter, or unknown-to me-business I wouldn’t be sure if it’s same quality, so that’d bother me. But it depends on the price you’re looking at I suppose. Moreover - I’d want to know exactly where the wood came from, but that’s just me. Looks like Limelight do well with the same model (generic parts) and I’ve always guessed that the ‘relic only’ offering was down to less work making sure the nitro finish is polished up and spot on!
  11. As a fretless player as well, I play a lot of melodic bass lines around the 10th, 12th, 14th frets on the D and G strings so I need a lot of clarity for these melodies to be clear. I use two rigs, a LM IV through a Barefaced Two10 and the Warwick Gnome Ipro 300 through a TC208. The latter is a beautiful rig, crystal clear, small and lightweight. The only reason I didn't mention the Warwick head is I can't remember how silent it is but I'll check tonight and let you know. As for my other rig, I totally understand what you are saying about MarkBass, I found the MB cabs to be exactly as you describe and got rid of mine when I had them some years back for those reasons. The heads however are super transparent and clear and I do very much like them. You'll notice a lot of electric Jazz bassists use them as they are very transparent. As for my Barefaced Two10 cab, its quite old school sounding so I'm looking at changing it for a LFSys cab. As an example of my style, this is the sort of playing I do so you can hear from the start after the harmonics intro I am playing a lot of melody which needs to be super clear.
  12. Occupy Basschat!
  13. …and low fan noise 😀
  14. Better yes 😁 In my defence Pete, OP did state transparent 👍
  15. Me Too - Meghan Trainor
  16. Just noticed you were asking for interest not opinion, apols for my opinions above, have now shown some interest 👍
  17. Not really, just that as a bass becomes older it becomes A CLASSIC, in the period before it becomes L@@K, RARE.
  18. If the paint shop can do a decent Sherwood Green I’m interested in a Precision 👍
  19. Eye contact with the band members can help you relax, and keep it simple.
  20. 100% this. It may not be a necessary purchase for some, but it's been a complete lifesaver for me. I can't even remember how long I've had mine for, but more than 10 years for sure.
  21. Perhaps business wasn't the right word, I guess! Umm, certainly hobby/pastime would have been a better term. I know that in the literal sense it's just screwing stuff together, but feedback from the work I have done (so far) has been positive. There's no way I could build stuff from scratch; I neither have the time, inclination, machinery or skillset for this. I certainly think it would be possible to turn round a couple a week to supplement my income.
  22. Thanks @Linus27 - I've never been a fan of the MB sound, but it could just be because I've only ever heard their combos or cabs which seem to make everything sound muffled (at least to me). The Nano certainly has the features and portability. The biggest challenge I'm finding when doing youtube amp research is having to listen to a constant stream of slap demos - it gets wearing really quickly!
  23. 3.845 on my kitchen scale I have someone coming to see it tonight. Will let you know if he doesn't show up. Thanks
  24. If it's a hobby through which you can make a few gear tokens, go for it. A business, I think you'd struggle, it's not just the margins on parts versus sold instruments which would be low, but the time costs of all those discussion with interested buyers who eventually decide on a Sire. I've built some bitsas to order here and made a loss each time, and that loss doesn't include the time I spent. OK, I wasn't doing it to make money, but neither did I sell any of the instruments below its value as an instrument. iI guess I'm saying that as a bobby that might wash its face, fine, as a business, no way
  25. Bought a gig bag from Alex. Perfect, hassle free transaction. Speedy postage. Great comms 🙂
