paulmcnamara started following Nash Basses Revisited.......

As reported in a previous thread, back in 2012, I visited a relatively new Nash dealer: Westside MI in Denmark Street, London, (a shop that has sadly since disappeared, like so may of recent times). My aim was to see, feel and hear for myself just how good Nash basses were. I have to say that I came away a little underwhelmed after trying out a couple of Precisions and Jazzes. Whilst the finishes were very good, the feel was generally okay if a bit on the heavy side, but none of the basses I tried that day had the resonant sound of my two Fender Jazzes. It was an interesting visit, and I came away satisfied, in the sense that I had tried them, and could tell myself that at that time, Nash basses were probably not for me. But I have never forgotten them........... Wind forward 13 years and I have just travelled back from Bass Direct at Warwickshire, as the proud owner of a Nash 52 Precision (Butterscotch Blonde) which sounds amazing. Whilst at Bass Direct, which was my first visit, due to the distance, I received a warm welcome, with plenty of time to "try out" a number of Nash's including a PB 55, a PB 57, and a PB 63 as well as the PB 52 which I settled on. My feeling was that the Nash basses had come a long way from my trip to London back in 2012. Of all the basses I tried, I would have been more than happy to have brought home any of them with me. I settled on the 52 as it had great feel, super sound and just looks so cool. My thanks to all at Bass Direct for making the experience so good and to Bill Nash for making some superb basses. Ad Multos Annos!

Is anyone friendly with any engineers or staff working the Garage G2 venue in Glasgow, particularly engineers/tech? Have an issue following a gig on Friday night that I'm struggling to talk to anyone about who could help.
-
Sadly I suspect a lot of people are skint and need to pull in cash sharpish, selling a pedal collection one at a time is a PITA 😕

Its great when a good gig let alone two just give you that lift you needed. I do love a gig that just comes together and works. The energy is there, the feel is there and the audience seem to pick up on it and go with it. Nice one. 👌 Dave

Bold to assume we have a spare 50p after buying all the pedals we have. -

Does it now sound like a bass at all?? 😂 -
Sorry to ask a daft question but my reading knowledge is quite basic and only used at home when learning songs but how does the Capo 2 or 4 affect the bass. ? I don't use a capo so my understanding of them is about zero. I only use it to set up basses. 👍 Guitarists i've played with have used them but i thought it was just to save them barring a chord. ? Hi all Always overshoot on the requirements This stuff was bought so that I have a spare set of pedals when I go back home to gig 🤓. And I bought them over COVID with the funds that I would have spent on food and coffee while commuting. We all did crazy things over that period. anyway - Radial JDI - pretty much new, can’t find the box. 175 posted. - Darkglass X Ultra boxed - 250 posted - Markbass Octaver may have the box - 75 posted - Markbass Tube Drive no box - 65 posted can do hand over at King’s Cross with some notice. Travelling to Sheffield next week too

I like them. If it wasn't for the fact that I need a slow gear/volume swell effect live, it would be my all-in-one solution.

Black base with tortoiseshell guard is always a winner in my book.

I agree. There are some songs where the baseline is the song (or at least a huge part of it) and you can’t mess with that. But for others, you just need to find what works. Thats the difference between a cover band who play an interpretation and a tribute band, I guess.

This is one of my favourite dub tracks. It's astonishing. Very melodic bassline running over several bars. The cross-stick ridiculously high in the mix but totally perfect too.

Yes Sly & Robbie I think

For sale is the Microtubes B7K Ultra V2 which has the AUX input as well. Great sounding pedal with amazing ability to sculp both the tone on the preamp side and the distortion on the drive side of the pedal. There is some very impressive sounds that can be had out of this pedal. The pedal comes with the original box and all the goodies that came with it. I bought this pedal 3-4 years ago but the sound is a bit too much for the bands I am in. I was always hoping to use it but it has literally sat in the box the whole time. I had thought I might use it also as an emergency DI for gigs but I have never needed it. I would be really interested in trades for Iron Polytope because the funds coming from this will go towards this pedal. Possible option would be OE DCX or IE Frantabit. Possible option would be towards Bergantino HDN/HD 112 cab. If I was playing heavier music this pedal would absolutly be staying. £270, £260 including postage. Bank transfer or PayPal F&F.

I would assume as a responsible basschatter, the OP would either carry a spare few 50p pieces for the meter or their own generator.

It can mean that someone can get a professionally designed and built board for well below the original cost.
