  6. 5-8 in Barry (actually sneaked out 15 minutes early) with Fractured Persona then drive to Newport and 8:30-11 with Bluesfire. Back via McDs for a MacPlant and home after 12. Remind me... I do this for pleasure, right?
  7. Seems to be their new packaging design: https://www.jimdunlop.com/super-bright-stainless-steel-bass-strings-40-120-5-string/
  8. Yes, but compatible with charger for 9V nimhs.

  11. What happens if you update to 3.80 then 3.81 then 3.83? Alternatively, can you update online rather than from a downloaded file?

  13. If the active/passive switch has an unused pole, you could use that to switch the power to the preamp, assuming the pickups themselves are passive, then practice with it in passive mode.
  14. I'll try them, thanks. Yep the J-Tone has a passive mode switch, which works really well and has saved my bacon a couple of times. Oddly with the passive on, active off, a jack in the socket still will drain the battery.
  15. I use Procell batteries for my motorised TRVs (heating) and they are excellent. Luckily I'm retired now @tauzero, hence the high hours. Making up for lost time!
  16. Well, that went downhill quickly. "Do you want to buy it or are you just being a clever dick?". So I said I was just telling him he'd described it wrong, and he was too arrogant for me to buy anything from him.
  17. Personally I'm loathe to cut a big hole into my bass for a battery socket, if that's what you mean. If you mean a charge socket, then yes, I'll be seeing if that's viable: * try a rechargeable to see if it can power my preamp without significant noise * If it can, then fit one of these into the body, discretely * If not, stick with disposable batteries and swap in a known sufficiently charged battery for every gig.

  19. Miouw-gli? or Neutrik? mafeking ? As in “he’s mafeking cat”
  20. @Richard R if I make it, I will bring Costco cake, theirs are so large that they have their own postcode

    212 cab

On a rare side, alusonic 212 with a tweeter. Around 18 kg.
  22. I have no details on the bass that it went onto. However, I have reached out to the benefactor of my largesse, while at the same time preserving their anonymity. Let's see what the response will be.
  23. How about Galore? edit - been done, sorry
  24. The hall I have booked for the Midlands Bash is £180. I figure there will be about a dozen, so I plan to say £14 each without food and anything over goes to Nordorf Robbins along with raffle profits. There's a risk to me of course. The SW Bash has been fab with food included, but I would very happily pay more to cover the true cost and bring sandwiches.
  25. I had a similar problem Gareth. Helix software works fine on my Dell XPS15 but Librarian and Central won’t. Line 6 were not a lot of help. In the end I installed their Librarian and Central on a different PC and it worked fine. D.
