London region bash 2010

Well, I'm definitely able to do one Sunday in June - just need a heads-up to where 'n' when so I can get someone to cover my PA and bass duties on a Sunday morning.

I'll be bringing the full stack with me - both the 4x10 and the 1x15, so anyone can have a noodle through the GK head + Sansamp setup.

Anyone bringing an 8x10, 6x10, 4x12 or 2x15 cab I can also hook up so I could run clean + grit as an experiment?? The spare channel on my slave amp can push 200w into 8Ohms or 400w into 4Ohms, so it's just begging to be used! That would mean......1,300w total....OMG, is that bordering on DOOM? :)

Well, looking forward to this one even more - hope to meet up with some new peeps as well as renew old acquaintances from the SE Bass Bash last year.

Ian

You would be very welcome indeed !!! I for one wouldn't mind a tour of that topic at all. Can't speak for anyone else, but I'd like to hear this.

I'm sure more suggestions and ideas from anyone else that would like bring something to the day would be welcome.

A big THANK YOU LENNY

Ok folks, the time is almost upon us. I'm almost loath to suggest voting for stuff on this bash, given the current news issues .. ENOUGH ALREADY !!!!! WHO WANTS MORE VOTING ? :) however, I really don't see any other realistic way forward. Hmmm.

There are two choices before us.

1. Venue location, between Deptford Creekside Studios, South Eastern London and a school in Friern Barnet, North East London.

2. Which particular sunday we are going for.

Other points of business:

There hasn't been too much coming forward for a raffle. Any donations / ideas welcome.

More classes would also be welcome.

Hopefully, next year's London bash will be properly organised without all this malarky. With more time available for planning, I don't see any reason why we couldn't borrow on the experience of some of the longer standing bashes up and down the country, which could potentially make for a crackin' day for all.

So it's vote, vote, vote.

That's it, all done. The results are:

Creekside = 4 votes (22.22%)

School in Friern Barnet = 14 (77.78%)

Therefore, the London 2010 bass bash will be held on 27th June at the school in Friern Barnet suggested by Molan. At long last :)

I'm still thinking about the raffle for some reason :)

Having thought about it for a long time I can donate the following :

Line 6 UX1 usb recording interface http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/78819

or

TKL semi-hard case and Stagg ABS hard case http://www.djmmusic.com/itemdesc.asp?ic=TKL6036
and http://www.andertons.co.uk/hard-cases/pid1...ectric-bass.asp

The choice is your basschat, I'm happy to donate both on the condition that we raise at least a £100 for the charities.

Cheers
Jack

I think the cases Jack! Two prizes are always better than one... more happy people :)

Raffle will definitely be on - can everyone donate whatever you have please? And chase your suppliers too!

We'll also do a bring-and -buy for those who really can't face giving their stuff away...

Room for a small one? Well, not so small actually......

Should be able to get along on the 27th as Frien Barnet is just round the corner.

Could bring a couple of Status basses from the early 90s and maybe a Jap Fender or two from the late 80s? (but not for the raffle!)

Only if you promise not to laugh at my lamentable bass playing skills.

All the raffle gifts are most welcome, even if it's just a packet of scratchplate screws ! Seriously, anyone that wants to contribute something to the day, however small, deserves a big thank you from me and everyone that attends on the day. As Rich said somewhere else, B.C. is a wonderful place.

Fat Rich- it will be great to have you along on the day, if only just to meet you in person. If anyone is likely to get their skills laughed at, it's probably going to be me !!! Also, I would personally like to see some more Status basses having met OutToPlayJazz and his Status collection a short while ago. You're most welcome Sir.

Welcome one and all :)
