Al Krow Posted Tuesday at 11:52 Posted Tuesday at 11:52 Thanks for sharing that. Be interesting to see what Behringer are going to be retailing these for? Hopefully will put these within reach of many more musos given that the original Lovetone Meatball typically sells for around £750 used! Quote
MichaelDean Posted Tuesday at 12:06 Posted Tuesday at 12:06 £99 on Andertons. https://www.andertons.co.uk/behringer-meatball-envelope-filter-pedal/?search_query=behringer meatball 4 2 Quote
Supernaut Posted Tuesday at 19:28 Posted Tuesday at 19:28 (edited) I remember when Behringer pedals were £20! Incidentally, my BDI21 is still going strong. Purchased new in 2007. Edited Tuesday at 19:29 by Supernaut Quote

Is the original company dissolved maybe? It's pretty cheeky of Behringer to say they've been on 'a proper mission' to 'bring back' a bunch of pedals that have just straight up copied, (unless that line is Anderton's own work) but I know this is not uncommon in the pedal world and lots of clones are available. Copying the graphics this closely is taking the piss a bit though. I haven't tried the B-tron or the Meatringer but I'm curious to see what Lovetone will bring to the party. The only thing I would find useful would be a foot switchable effects loop like you find on the Chromatron but beyond that, and as someone who loves the original massive housing, I'm not sure how you could improve it. Dan Coggins, the original Lovetone man is involved with thorpyfx on this so very much live 1 Quote

admiralchew Posted yesterday at 12:47 Posted yesterday at 12:47 I’m glad it’s coming back; it’s a lovely pedal. With Dan Coggin’s involvement at Thorpy I’ve been hoping for something like this for a while. 2 Quote
pantherairsoft Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago I’m very interested in the Thorpyfx version. I suspect it’s going to cost a touch more than the Behringer though! 1 1 Quote

I’ll be happy to support the original maker. (Some Behringer copies are really good (Model D for example) whereas some are really not up to the rigours of heavy use.) 1 Quote

May need to dip a toe in with the Behringer clone first? Quote
paul_5 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Your concern is justified @al krow, the Meatball is the single best filter I've used in over 30 years of playing. 1 Quote
HoorayForAnonyms Posted 36 minutes ago Posted 36 minutes ago I’ll be keen to check out the Thorpe FX offering. I wonder what the price might be; £265ish? And now I’m looking at FTelectronicas version again. https://www.ftelettronica.com/product/envelope-follower-triggered-filter/ I really don’t need another filter but… Quote
