  1. It is! You got me interested in what they had to offer (like so many pedals) so I jumped on the waiting list a while back. It’s a lovely comp, although I don’t always have it on; the DLA-2A at the end of the chain has the always-on-comp honours. I’ve had a few people ask me what the pedal with the green knobs is so, for anyone interested, it’s a Horrothia Type Two chorus. Horrothia make some great pedals and I think there’s a fuzz in the works too judging by a recent Instagram reel.
  2. The Black Pearl has now moved to preorder only. I’m glad for Will that they seemed to sell quickly!
  3. It’s a fabulous pedal. I’ve been looking for something to sit at the end of the chain and perform a similar function to a Cali76-TX and this does it very nicely. It’s not sterile or pristine, instead imparting a bit of warmth. It seems to make each note quite mellow and fat sounding. It’s quite subtle though, I didn’t notice a massive change with it on, but I did notice it. The notes seem to bloom gently and musically and it brings harmonics out nicely. There aren’t many settings to mess with either so I can basically just leave it to do its thing. I’ve realised I like the way the LA-2A works and sounds though (there are a lot of YouTube videos covering it) so if that’s not your preferred flavour it’s worth bearing in mind this is basically a facsimile. It’s also worth pointing out I always intended to run it at (or almost at) the end of my chain like in a studio (only the reverb and the console-like BP1 preamp sit after it). I suspect it may be a little too saturating to be run through my various octaves and fuzzes. I also think it may be overkill if you already use something like a Noble as there would be crossover with the natural tube compression. It’s brilliant with a solid state preamp like the BP1 though and the clarity/precision of tone is very hifi and articulate. It’s a 12v centre positive 1.5A monster though so powering it is tricky (I’m using a Cioks Crux) and the fact it has tubes and is quite tall makes it a little tricky to want to keep putting in a case. I think it’ll be worth it for the tone though. Reading the above back it sounds more negative than expected but that’s because it’s an expensive bit of kit that’s hard to try before you buy, so I feel the need to be a bit more reflective. I waited months for the second release though with the intention of having it as a cornerstone pedal on my board and I don’t regret it at all.
  4. I've just checked my original order and yes it does have the bass boost mod.
  5. The pedals I was waiting for (two compressors) arrived so I've now put my main board together. There's one more board to go; a certain sci-fi film series themed board but there's one pedal I'm waiting on which will hopefully be here in the next couple of weeks or so. I've finally got a board where I have an octave, fuzz, octave, fuzz chain (I actually quite like fuzz into octave even if logic suggests I shouldn't but now I don't need to choose). It's power-hungry (it needs three IEC cables) and the settings pictured reflect those decided by my bedcover when the pedals were upside down while I was wiring it, but after some twiddling it sounds good! The chain is: BP1 > BP1 Loop Send: Strobostomp > Opti-FET > Octabvre > Doom 2 > Subsonic > TAFM > Frantabit > MBD3 > Cave Bear > XD > Type Two > AFG-1 > ADG-1 SE > Slow Loris > DLA-2A > Nimbus SE > BP1 Loop Return > Element (underneath board)
  6. Agreed. I’m shocked by that. The Nomad is very possibly the best octave fuzz I’ve played and the MBD3 takes one of the best OD and distortion circuits and improves it - I’ve just put one one my new big board! Good luck with the sales!

  8. I’ll take that as a positive I think, so thanks? I’ve been pestering Russ at Doc Lloyd about these four about four months so I’m thrilled it’s here. I’m waiting on a couple of patch cables before I fully assemble the board but I’ve run it with the pedals that will form the board and they all sound great with it. Only the reverb and preamp will be after it in the chain.
  9. I’ve been waiting for the release of the second batch of Doc Lloyd DLA-2As to use as the cornerstone of a pedalboard build and received mine earlier last week. It’s a recreation of the LA-2A compressor and it sounds sublime. It’s in the same territory cost-wise as a Noble but it’s an incredible bit of kit: https://www.doclloyd.com/products/leveling-amplifier-model-dla-2a It runs on 12v centre positive power at 1.5A so I’ve been running it off a Cioks Crux. Another batch is due in Autumn.
  10. Amazing pedals and excellent guy - good luck with the sales!
  11. Brilliant pedal and great pedal-maker. Good luck with the sale!
  12. Amazing price. If I recall correctly we got gouged for £359 on the UK on initial sale.
  13. Agh, you're both right. Sorry to be a pain but I've withdrawn the two remaining IE pedals for now - I sold the FMeron and Arcing Prisms but I can't let the FrantaBit and XD go at the moment. I've sold two pedals recently I immediately regretted, the Pladask Draume and the Triungulo Barbanera and I can see these being the same. I'm already on the list again for a Barbanera and I can't put myself through another IE drop and the crazy courier and customs fees. I also had a good hard look at the Subterrograph and couldn't justify spending that much on what is effectively two pedals I already have in one enclosure. It does look fantastic though...
  14. Did Andertons say they weren’t going to stock L-1000s or just that particular colour? Mine is match green, so a bit odd and I wasn’t surprised that I needed to specially order that. The more standard core colours were in stock at the time though. I’ve only ever heard people say good things about the Tributes too.
  15. I hope it’s nothing bad too. I really like my G&L! It is tricky getting them though. In addition to my L-1000 having to be a special order, the JB-2 Tribute I ordered from Thomann in December is still yet to arrive (originally expected 1-2 weeks and quickly updated to April).
  16. Apologies for another post but I will happily say good things about these basses until the cows come home.
  17. It boggles my mind that this is still available, especially at this price. These basses are pretty incredible and very well made.
  18. Thanks very much. I’ve been waiting for a few pedals for a while so it’s been a bit crazy them all turning up at once. Loving your Moose chat in the threads too. He makes some cracking pedals.
  19. Hot on the heels of the Barbanera is another filter I ordered several months ago. Both filters were worth the wait but it does mean things are pretty quacky over here now. The Nimbus was ordered in August but held until the XD was also ready. @pantherairsoft The Dusk does look great. I don’t think I’ve played a Dr Scientist pedal yet but I’m definitely curious.
  20. I think it was just shy of £2k and arrived in about four and a half months. That was late 2022/early 2023.
  21. It wasn’t quite as long as eight months but it was more than six months from order to delivery. That said, the pedal is one of the best of its type that I’ve played and I’ve typically found Will to be helpful, and he kept me reasonably updated. I’m mindful of the fact that like a lot of boutique builders that it’s not his main gig so his time is at a premium. He’s helped me out with getting a spare backing plate for my original Barbanera and this is the third of his pedals I’ve owned (2 x Barbanera and a Malombra). It’s not the longest I’ve waited for a pedal and for anyone wondering whether it’s worth the wait I would say the pedal is great and if you order now at least the clock starts. I appreciate that not everyone either can wait or is willing to tie up money for so long without a pedal.
  22. My new Triungulo Barbanera arrived yesterday. It’s such a good pedal. I had one before but swapped it for, would you believe it, a Cog pedal with a Star Wars picture. It took me all of three days to order a new one. I believe this one has a new trimmer inside too although I’ve not opened it to check yet. I also placed an order for an FEA Labs Opti-FET this morning as my waiting list number came up.
  23. He has a lovely tone. Hearing that was enough to have me taking out my active jazz bass yesterday. I love the jazz tone but the active preamp (currently a 3 Leaf Anima rather than the stock Fender preamp) allows for a lot more exploration and nuance and puts it into similar territory to the Marcus Miller bass in the video (or, unexpectedly, StingRay territory).
  24. I ordered mine (matcha green rather than ash) from Andertons. It wasn't on the website so they did it via special order. It took a while but all worked out well.
