fretmeister Posted August 4 Posted August 4 https://www.cashconverters.co.uk/shop/music-tv--video/musical-instruments/guitars--string-instruments/bass-guitar/054400261222 Just in case someone wants this cool little thing. 1 Quote
NancyJohnson Posted August 5 Posted August 5 I'm quite fascinated by these things. Do I, as robust gentleman of 6'4" with gorillaesque hands, need one? No. 2 Quote

Pea Turgh Posted August 5 Posted August 5 I had to look up FTFY, as always thought it was “Fu## that fu## you” 😂 I also have an itch for something stupidly small, though I’m a mere 6’3”. 2 Quote
Jack Posted August 6 Posted August 6 (edited) I am significantly smaller than that but I don't think I want a fretless that small with how terrible my intonation is even on a full scale. At what point does it just become a violin? Edited August 6 by Jack 1 2 Quote
HeadlessBassist Posted August 6 Posted August 6 Cash Converters seem to have cottoned on. Only a few years ago, they'd have sold this for £85 thinking it was a toy. 2 Quote
binky_bass Posted August 6 Posted August 6 This is in the Colchester store, saw it there a while back. It's such an incredibly niche instrument that they will struggle to sell it! If anyone is interested, send them an offer via email, they tend to be quite negotiable on the niche things that haven't sold in a while. 1 Quote

I'm sure they do their checks, but makes you wonder why someone who made the decision to purchase such a niche bass would decide to part with it via CC? I guess there are all sorts of scenarios which could explain it.... 1 Quote
binky_bass Posted August 6 Posted August 6 I've found a few choice things in CC over the years... Years ago in the Basildon one, I found the very first Warwick Vampyre ever made, serial 1001. Confirmed by Hans P Wilfer via email. Also recently found a Gibson Les Paul Studio signed by 30 or so legends including Steven Tyler, Alice Cooper, Duff McKagan, Tony Iommi, Meat Loaf etc. Again, independently confirmed. Some odd treasures do pop up in CC from time to time! Quote

IIRC they were top of the line - £25K new. There was no way they weren't stolen. Quote
fretmeister Posted August 7 Author Posted August 7 If I hadn't recently had to buy a new washing machine I'd have probably emailed CC with a cheeky offer. It's so annoying having to replace necessities! Quote

PainInTheBass Posted August 8 Posted August 8 That bass was looking nice until I saw the back of it - looks like a Ferengi ear. Can't unsee it... 3 Quote

Schnozzalee Posted August 8 Posted August 8 I love it, but I just know it'll mess up my muscle memory for when I play my fretless 34". As someone thats always had to live in shared housing, I appreciate the idea of having something small but luxury to move with... That said, you'd have to achieve some interesting wrist angles. Quote

jonno1981 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I’m unemployed and on holiday! It’s not the best time to splash out. This looks like something I’d be massively excited about for five minutes, never find a practical use for and leave it to live on the wall. A beautifully made wall ornament to admire and then take back to cash generators! 1 Quote
binky_bass Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I'll be in Colchester tomorrow... might offer the £500 and see what happens! Quote
