Boodang Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Overwater ‘C’ bass. Played one at a show, if I remember rightly a 36” scale tuned to low C. Another bass I regret not buying when I had the chance. 1 Quote
baldwinbass Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Burns Flyte Bass - I had a lovely silver one. Quote
Boodang Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Iceni Zoot bass fretless. Had a resin fretboard, absolutely gorgeous. Kind of like the Zon basses but made in Essex I think. Quote
Boodang Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago SD Curlee basses. Don’t know why but always had a thing for them even if they did look like they’d been hand carved with a rusty pen knife. 2 Quote
Leonard Smalls Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago And you don't often see a Wishbass for sale either... 2 Quote
Boodang Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Kramer aluminium neck. Again a very basic utilitarian look to the bodies but there was something about the necks that made me want one. 1 Quote

I think that’s mostly because they’ve all been turned into standard lamps. I remember reading a review on one, they don’t have truss rods so it was only playable under certain atmospheric conditions. So you could only play the gig if it wasn’t too hot or too cold. I’ve always thought about buying one in a lovely purpleheart, standing it in the corner of room and turn it into a bass guitar art lamp. 1 Quote
Boodang Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago (edited) Carl Thompson, but mostly because no one would sell once they own one of his basses. Described by one reviewer as the Stradivarius of the bass world. Edited 6 hours ago by Boodang 1 Quote

I was at the bass centre in Wapping many moons ago and had one in my hands but instead bought a Warwick, which, while not a bad bass, is not a Vigier. I do regret not buying it and now almost impossible to find. Mine looks like this, it took 20 years of chasing to find this very one. 3 Quote

And don't read what Ken Smith says about him, even if they shared the basement workshop for some time, I don't know who is the more selfish. Quote

All that aside….great to see Dave Grohl playing drums again. 😂 I've got a 5-er; it's a nice bass, if rather large. It cost me an Epiphone EB0 plus a couple of hundred quid. 1 Quote

This was a weird one - they did a short run of them with bits cut of. I would like another model too. Quote

I've owned 3 and the Hondo copy of The Duke. However these too are now starting to edge into ridiculous pricing. Edited 5 hours ago by BigRedX Quote

I've never liked The Duke - I don't get the point of doing a headless and then putting normal tuners are the arris end. Quote
Wombat Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I wanted a Zon Sonus but as they never come up for sale ended up with a Legacy instead. Lovely bass but just not scratched the itch… 1 Quote
prowla Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I'd quite like a Gus; I had a go on @Happy Jack's some time ago - I think he said he acquired it from @BigRedX ? 1 Quote

Boodang Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago And talking of aluminium necks, a Travis Bean would be nice. Saw one for sale recently and couldn’t believe the price! 2 Quote
