daveybass Posted May 13 Posted May 13 I love Fuzz and want to get a new addition- any suggestions please? I’m in a 60’s beat/garage covers band so you probably get the tonal landscape - fat and creamy is what I was thinking (but never mind my obsession with custard) Thanks gang 1 Quote
Bagman Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Wounded Paw “Attack Goat” or their “Battering Ram” which has a very good drive circuit and the Fuzz 1 Quote

Cosmo Valdemar Posted May 15 Posted May 15 If you're after something Muff-flavoured the EHX Green Russian is fantastic - HUGE bottom end and not very expensive. As always with these threads though I would say, please post a song with the kind of distortion you're after, it makes it easier to make suggestions 😁 2 Quote

ped Posted May 16 Posted May 16 I like the Valco KGB. I found my tall font Muff got a bit lost in the mix - the Valco does exactly the same sound but allows far more control, including phase, blend, impedance and tone. Plus three voices with varying mids and gate. If you can’t get what you want out of the KGB, it’s probably not a fuzz! 1 Quote
daveybass Posted May 16 Author Posted May 16 They all sound great, I think the bass sound on Mean Mr Mustard is probably where I’d like it to be Quote

bnt Posted May 17 Posted May 17 (edited) I have a Tone City Matcha Cream, which is a green muff type mini pedal. I don’t use it a lot, but it definitely has the fatness, though I have to keep the tone control dialed back or I lose low end.I’m not a fuzz connoisseur, but another I’m considering is the EHX Lizard King. mike f Posted Friday at 22:09 Posted Friday at 22:09 (edited) I found the MXR Blowtorch to be particularly nuts, and they can be found quite cheap. Was going to ditch mine until I was just messing about with it and put the middle and treble on full (frequency switch to the right, can’t remember the numbers), bass at about 11 o’clock. And you can blend it too. Powerful and very, very fuzzy. Edited Friday at 22:12 by mike f 1 Quote

BabyBlueSound Posted Friday at 23:42 Posted Friday at 23:42 Shameless plug, here on the market I am selling a cheap DIY Mastotron clone I made that has a switch for warming up / bassing up the tone. 😁 Not exactly a blend, but it's the next best thing for bass. But I don't know if it's "creamy" though, or even if we consider the same things "creamy" 😉 1 Quote

Bagman Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago I’ve not had a go on that but the Dreadbox Kinematic was a heap of fun for sure!! 2 Quote
