FS JMJ Black Mustang - *WITHDRAWN* £950 Cambridge - Linton area

Due to a pricey house bill coming in much higher than expected, this is now up for sale. 

 

Having had 3 JMJ basses now (don't ask, I'm an idiot), I can safely say this one is fantastic! 

 

In great condition apart from the obvious relic from the factory. No fret wear. All working 100%

Comes with a new stay fender gig bag (short scale), original Fender flats, some round wounds and fitted with La Bella. Also includes the perl white pick guard.

 

£950 posted or collection from near Linton Cambridge.

I’ve played this one, it was spot on. And when I heard it in a mix v’s a Custom Shop Pino, we’ll let’s just say the Pino was more of an embarrassed red than fiesta red 😬

Going by the postings of owners (of which I’m one), they all are. Fender definitely got it right with this model.

Did they do 2 different fingerboard woods for the JMJ? Some I see have dark and some have lighter wood like yours.

 

See what I mean below,some seem

to have dark Rosewood and some look more like Pau Ferro or a light rosewood

They’re all rosewood. Which being natural can vary between light or dark.

to be honest my one could do with some lemon oil and it would darken up a fair amount. It’s not that light in person.

Yeah it does look a little thirsty. I like both but just wondered as they difference is noticeable. I use that stuff from crimson guitars on my Basses/guitars and always darkens them up a bit.

JMJs are always rosewood. It darkens up very nicely with an application of lemon oil

I’m thinking of buying this if I can later next week maybe if it hasn’t sold.

Well some lemon oils done the trick. Only problem is I can’t put the thing down now lol. If I’m selling something, I always pack it away after putting the ad up. That way it stops the inevitable instant sellers remorse…. Aggghhh. EDIT - Just to say it is still for sale...
