Mesa Boogie Road Ready 215 - *WITHDRAWN* £300 Newcastle

Mesa Boogie Road Ready 215. I Bought it from the Mission who in turn bought it from John Henry’s and according to them it was part of Fleas European touring stock. 
800 watts, 4 ohms, mono and 2 x 8 ohms biamp inputs. Unbelievably loud, incredibly clean, room filling bass with plenty of full range too. 
Built into its own flightcase with removable front panel. 
When I bought it I had the input panel and handles blasted and powder coated. 
I love it and travelled to Wales to collect however, the project I bought it for is coming to an end and i really don’t need any more rigs 😞. 

£300 collected from Byker Or could meet halfway if it wasn’t a ridiculous journey.

I had a pair of these in diesel trim. This cabinet is the very best bass guitar cabinet you can buy (IMHO). Don't imagine it's a one trick pony, by any means.

Awesome cab, I used one for years, and still use a 1x15 RR.   Heavy, but awesomely clean, tight and powerful, and tough enough to withstand a full on nuclear blast.   The pros used them for a reason!   GLWTS 👍

To echo the others, I had the Diesel 2x15" version (not flight-cased!) and gigged it for years.

What a thing of beauty they are. GLWTS

I love everything Mesa does.

If i was a young man i would love this but at 62 yrs old its a bit much for me.

Still nice to dream and admire from afar.

Sad state of affairs when such awesome tech is valued at £300 when so much underpowered and overspecified gear sells for so much more. Great for us Boogie fans however 👍

This is a Diesel by the way, just that it’s the Road Ready version.   The EV drivers in these are sublimely good.

But I'm 59 with hernia's & a barefaced vintage 2x15 so,

Best cab I ever used.... and I used one for 10 years. Full range, punchy and those beautiful EV speakers handle all from superclear to full on grind with ease....

Just to say this cab should have slots on the bottom corners for removable castors (see pic of my 1x15) which makes it a cinch to move the cab around (except on stairs of course!).  Amazed this is still here.....

A mate of mine once plugged his 335 into my Bass 400 and diesel 2x15. Best guitar sound ever. There's no lack of top end with those speakers.

I once plugged an amp into a big Boogie cab and a Warwick 6 x 10. I know that new drivers have more this and that than older drivers. But big boxes make the air wobble.

trouser flapping loudness should be a bass cab measurement.

Do you know what the manufacturer of the castors is? It has the plates but no castors.

Hmmmm....all I can think of is:

1. Try contacting Mesa, as I think they’re unique to their cabs, Mesa may have kept them on later ranges? (long shot!)

2.  Take some off a knackered Diesel cab if you can find one, as all the bigger cabs had them - they’re on my 1516 Diesel cab as well. (Also a long shot!)

3.  The castors are just on flat metal plates that slide into the slots on the cab base, so maybe a local machining firm could custom make a set?

4. Ignore the built-in slots, make a simple strong plywood dolly board with castors, which the cab can be placed on for transport.   I’ve a Trace 1x15 that the previous owner did this for (pic) which is permanently fixed to the base of the cab but could be detached if needed - makes it so easy to move the entire rig around 👍

That's the same castors i got with my Mesa PH212 bought new few yrs back. They are def Mesa's own castors. Press a button somewhere and they unlock and slide out if i remember right.

I had a Road Ready 2x18. I ended up taking the plates off and fitting heavy duty castors - with brakes. Easy job to do.

 

The diesel castors weren't really up to the job of moving the cab on uneven surfaces.
