This week, I 'ave been mostly playin'...

 

 

Went round to the rehearsal space last night to drop off the new biamp cables for my GK rig and test it out, so thought I'd kill two birds with one stone, so to speak and brought the new P Bass to test out with it.

To say I'm happy is an understatement 😁😁

My Laney Nexus went and has recently been replaced with this big lump of pure Rock 'n' Roll... (or should that be Tuck-'n'-Roll)? The sound and build quality is way beyond what I expected. The head has absolutley everything you need and nothing you don't.😎

Yeah, the bass is on a grab stand! Here is the actual headstock..

 

 

  It does have a wonderful neck which is only spoiled by that hand shaped nut. 😆

Maiden voyage for this setup tonight. It's a tight space with low ceilings.

I got a message on Thursday asking if I could cover a gig tonight. I was away in the Western Lake District and only got home last night. First time playing with these people, and hadn't met two of them before today. All I had was message with a set list and keys, plus a bit of back and forth on whatsapp about which versions etc. The gig went down really well, nice place, nice people, and lots of positive feedback. Bluesy covers, but very few 12 bars, even a Christina Aguilera tune, which I never thought I'd be doing at the age of 60! Two singers, male and female,  guitar, cajon, and me on bass

Travelled light, BF One10, GK Legacy 800, '73 P bass. One trip load in. Oh, and I got paid in cash!

My perpetual rig of choice - Tecamp Puma 900, GR Bass AT212, and as I also do the PA, Behringer XR18 with a cheeky peek of the Zoom MS-60B+ on top of it, with external router and BCF2000 and Nokia T20 tablet for handy control.
