BTW, my previous Forte with the Haz 18V is back on BD. It was my no-frills NS-4. I bought it in 2020 but sold it after some time via BD. Someone bought it then but is now selling it again via BD. It is a great bass, but I am not a fan of matte finishes. I have no affiliation with BD or the seller, don't even know who (s)he is. Here is the link:

That’s very nice. Great electronics choice. I think short of a diff colour and perhaps a gloss finish that would be what I’d consider a dream spec.

A bit earlier, I posted a photo of the headstock, and it is indeed a NS-2. However, the specs sound indeed more like a Forte, but I don't think Spector is making any Fortes anymore (as I said, according to a US retailer who is taking Spector orders). So, if someone wants a no-frills NS-2, you cannot go down the Forte route anymore and will have to get a lower specced NS-2 with the much higher price tag. Sad but true.

Interesting. Where did you hear that Forte’s weren’t being made anymore?

Earlier the year, over at Talkbass, someone from Fretnation mentioned it. You can check his website and it does not mention Fortes anymore:

His Spector configurator, very interesting, so many options!

What a shame. Looks like my next US Spector will be an NS-2 then, but before that’ll be getting a Euro for touring alongside the Forte I bought from you ☺️

There is a very interesting and unique Euro on the BC marketplace. A real bargain in comparison to what Euros cost nowadays (and what that particular bass cost). Just saying 😉

Also the Spector website appears to have changed - there’s no longer a section for the Fortes, NS Bolt Ons or NS Neck Thrus. Looks like all USA models are now from what they are calling the Custom Shop.

The custom shop page also has a custom shop build sheet for download (towards the bottom of the page).

The models listed are: NS-2, 4X, NS-5, 5X and NS-6.

As I said, real shame to see the Forte go (as a similarly specced NS-2 will cost way more), but good news for the Forte's resale value 😀

Yeah, saw that too. Very interesting.

Only fancy wood tops were officially off limits and still separating Fortes from NS-2s. However, I remember reading over at TB that someone got a Forte with a fancy top too.

My Forte 6 that I had have quite a fancy top. Ebony board too, Spector branded tuners.... In fact the only things separating from an NS-6XL were the inlays and the HAZ.

So this whole Forte thing got quite blurred out in the end.

Spector fans,

Great offer from PMT B'ham - new Spector Euro 4 LT Rudy Sarzo for £1,503.88 (reduced from £2,575!).

Very tempting but I had a Euro 4LT with the FF pickups before (in black) and the neck is just too chunky for my taste. Killer sounds and looks though!

Strange they took it back to the standard neck position with the v2 of the Rudy Sarzo sig…

I think his second "signature" model is actually the same as the previously available limited-edition Euro LT with the FF pickups and preamp (the one I had). The only difference: the previous ones were black, this one is red.

In this video, Rudy mentions that he saw the bass at the Fishman booth at NAMM and immediately liked it.

No, the original Rudy sarzo (the black one with the Simms pickups) actually had the neck slightly further out so Rudy could access the higher frets more easily. Having said that, I’ve just searched for a pic to show you and it looks like there was also a black/Simms version with standard neck position. Look at the pic below and see the lower cutaway is in line with the last fret, and how big the gap between the bridge and tail is

Yes, I know, the one with the SimS Super Qud pickups. That's his first Spector signature bass and really different than other Spectors (so, a true signature bass). However, I was just saying that his second signature model is not really a "signature" one but just the already existing Euro LT with the FFs in a different colour (red instead of black). There is nothing "signature" about his new signature model, still a great bass though. The Spector website lists both models:

The SimS model - Euro 4 LX Rudy Sarzo - https://www.spectorbass.com/product/euro4-lx-rudy-sarzo/

The Fishman model - Euro 4 LT Rudy Sarzo - https://www.spectorbass.com/product/euro4-lt-rudy-sarzo/

New bass day! I thought I'd revive this thread rather than start a new one, since this it where it belongs!

I've had 3 Spectors before, a Legend 4, a Q4 Pro and a Legend Custom. All fine basses, but nothing special and I've ended up moving them on. I've always wanted to try a Euro but couldn't justify the price or they didn't suit my bands at the time.

I saw PMT had this Spector EuroBolt 4 in Inferno Red in their sale, £700 cheaper than it's original price. I couldn't resist! It's got a very wide neck compared to what I'm used to, but a comfortable profile and it's nice and light (my bathroom scales show 7.4lbs), so I'm sure I'll be able to get used to it.

A couple of issues - there's a mark which appears to be under the finish on the top horn, and two cracks in the finish at the neck join - perhaps screwed in too tightly? Other than that it all looks good. But why couldn't they make the electronics cover flush with the body, they are on the Korean made ones.

Looking forward to plugging it in this evening and seeing how the Aguilar pickups and preamp compare to the EMG HZs I've had in the others.
