juanbcn83 Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Wow, this fretboard looks beautiful!!! Congratulations for your adquisiton, I hope you enjoy it a lot. With the time I hope you explain your thoughts about the bass in a concert, rehearsals, recordings... 2 1 Quote
prowla Posted November 15 Posted November 15 I'm not sure if the word it out, but at the SE Bass Bash Chris Childs said he's selling his Sandberg fretless. I had a quick go on it and it's a really nice bass (but I don't need another fretless). 1 Quote

Curiously my Sandberg is his model, the Enigma 5 strings and I couldn't be happier. In my opinion Sandberg has a "vintage" sound but a little more aggressive, due to the humbucker in the bridge pick up I guess, but is a bass that works for me in every situation. 1 Quote
dmccombe7 Posted November 15 Posted November 15 I'm not a huge fan of the Sandberg tone from my VM4 but i always get a tone i like at almost every gig. When i hear vids posted later it sounds pretty good too. Doesn't matter what amp or rig i use i can quickly get a decent tone from it. Its the one bass i can always rely on. I've taken other basses as a back up or used the first set but something's always missing and i revert back to the VM4. I've tried Fender P, J, Overwaters, Godin but i'm never truly satisfied with them. I also find the VM4 the most comfortable bass to play on longer gigs whether its the weight or just the feel of the neck its amazing. I did like the MarloweDK tone with the punk band tho and once again that was my fall back bass and now my back up for the VM4 with the Glam band. Its just so easy to dial in a good tone from a Sandberg VM4 without tweaking the amp. Dave 4 Quote
juanbcn83 Posted November 15 Posted November 15 I play soul, blues and jazz so an aggressive tone is the opposite what I'm looking for but this bass works perfect for me. It gaves me a classic sound but a little bit separated. In terms of shape I think that the VM has the most beautiful modern P shape I ever met. The neck is a dream to play. You don't need anything else. 1 Quote

Yes - I played his Dingwall last weekend at the Bass Bash. He also brought along his Sandberg (a black fretless) and said he's really not playing it and so was looking to sell it. 1 Quote
Lozz196 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Just got myself this little beauty today. Had been looking for a 7-pounder (or under) and this came up at exactly 7lbs. Although it’s heavier than my Superlight TT I’m finding that playing full scale basses standing up is becoming a bit of a stretch hence my search. Got it from Guitar Village, my first time of dealing with them which I have to say was excellent. Sounds and plays beautifully, as I’d expect. I’m not really into fake relicing or blocks but somehow these just seem to really suit this bass. 14 Quote
dmccombe7 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago That's nice @Lozz196 Must admit i like blocks on the fretboards especially the old sunburst Jazz basses. Have you still got an order in for one. ? Dave Quote

Lozz196 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Well the SL TT might end up for sale, great bass that it is I think this new Lionel will fit better for me. 1 Quote
