I built one for friend and I like it SO much better than the Klon clone! I am also a "compressor goes last" offender. The multiband BC-1X just cleans up the various digital volume swings from the C4, the envelope and the Tera Echo so nicely. Yeahh....cool !!! Quote
ped Posted April 25 Posted April 25 No changes to my board for a while now (OK I turned the tuner around), except I occasionally 'guest' a pedal in the Meatball loop. Do you all like my massive Tubescreamer pillow? 😆 10 4 Quote
dudewheresmybass Posted April 25 Author Posted April 25 The cushion looks awesome Ped, but does it have the traditional mid bump? 5 Quote

Bagman Posted April 26 Posted April 26 dipped into cliche yesterday recording session - fretless Stingray 2EQ with the Free The Tone Chorus. it's actually quite lovely in strict moderation 1 Quote
Rolf Posted April 26 Posted April 26 New board, still a work in prgress and may need a little rearranging. Trying out the DemonFX Alpha Omicron, it sounds really good. 4 Quote

Rolf Posted April 26 Posted April 26 4 hours ago, MrDinsdale said: Always kinda fancied a Pharaoh, how are they for bass? It’s great, it’s Muff-based but it’s far better than original Big Muffs IMO. It doesn’t scoop out the mids, it keeps the low end and there’s loads of gain available. Fuzzy grind with definition. I used it on guitar for years and just kept it on my board when I went back to playing bass, and it’s just as good now. 1 Quote

Sean Posted April 26 Posted April 26 (edited) I did this today. After fitting the LHZ to the still nameless maple board Euro 4LX. I've decided that for the covers project I need my comfort-zone analogue boxes. I don't really need much and this does it all and more. A quick run-through: 1. The SFX Microthumpinator is essential (it's like an air fryer. How people live without them, I have no idea). 2. The GK Plex is my favourite pedal/box/effect/DI ever. 3. The TC Chorus just uses the Duff TonePrint, I don't need anything else. 4. The MXR filter (3rd time I've had one of these) is used on 2 songs. 5. The Made by Mike (London Era) ZVEX Woolly Mammoth clone, that I've had forever, is there in case I need to use this rig for the originals band. Other: It's all sitting on a Pedaltrain Metro 16. Power is from a T-Rex Chameleon and the buttons are Orange, Vimto, Vodka, Strawberry and Lime. Tuner? It's in the Plex. Compressor? See above. Overdrive? See above. Amp sims? Guess. USB Interface? That too. Emergency Backup DI? Plex again, folks. Headphone amp? Ole Bob G thought of that too. Space inside for your stash? Damn right. Edited April 26 by Sean 6 Quote

Amp sim’s sound massive and completely realistic & give you a great sound flat, but then the EQ options and contour switches can really add some flavour - I expect to see more love for the Plex, it’s great! (Altho the £519 price tag at Bass Direct is a bit wild 😕 but looking at other stuff out there for £300+ it’s worth the money!) Edited April 27 by Paddy777 1 Quote

I've had an MXR DI 80+ a few times, a Tech21 SansAmp, an Aguilar ToneHammer, an MXR Bass DI, a Tech21 DP3-X, DHA custom units, the EHX Battalion (shocking thing), the EBS one with the sticky out valve, a couple of others I've forgotten and the first one that does exactly what I want (and more) is the Plex. basexperience Posted Thursday at 08:08 Posted Thursday at 08:08 I needed some weird reverbs and noises, so I took a £50 punt on the M-VAVE ANNBLACKBOX and I've got to be honest, it's better than I expected. I need to repair the FI again though, the output level pot has died just like last time. I'll have to take it off the board, the pot isn't solid enough to survive being in the bag. What synth do you think I should replace it with? Wish I could get one of the 3D printed recase kits to turn it into the mini version, then I could pull it into the board a little and off the back edge, which would protect that pot... replacing the pot is a complete ballache as well. 1 Quote

Linus27 Posted Thursday at 08:27 Posted Thursday at 08:27 My updated fretless pedalboard. 1. TC Electronic Tuner 2. Boss OC5 Octave 3. Harley Benton Custom Line Chorus 4. Walrus Audio Slo Reverb 5. Mooer Ambient A7 Reverb 6. Sonicake Boost 7. Ampeg Optical Compressor 8. Sansamp BDDI V2 Preamp Super happy with this and it sounds amazing. The only thing I would like to try for a possible change is replace the two reverb pedals with a Strymon Cloudburst. I'm happy with these two reverbs but the Cloudbust has a few features I would like to try out and still does what my current reverb pedals do. 3 Quote
