The great Rico Rodriguez the trombone player from the Specials has passed away according their website. :(

What a shame. I saw him playing with Jerry Dammers Spatial AKA Orchestra last year and he looked really frail and not at his best at all.

I know he was a veteran - just saying that his playing with the Specials popularised the sound for a whole new generation in the UK

Sad to hear of Ricos passing - his playing brought delight to many over the years.

He played with Linton Kwesi Johnson amongst many others - I just adore this album and can recommend it to anyone - some great bass playing too !
