Are those 2 band EQs? I thought the Sterling only came with 3 band EQ and the pickup selector switch... Shows what I know! 1 Quote
cocco Posted October 31 Posted October 31 I recently got this Aqua Sparkle special 2nd hand from Bass Direct. It's a 2020 build and came with a hipshot extender installed. I've always liked the way Stingrays play, and loved the sound of them when other people played them, but for some reason, with the older 2 and 3EQ I could never get a sound I was happy with out of one. This was a bit of a stab in the dark, but it's definitely paid off. I was hoping that the new 18v pre would work for me and I'm happy to say so far so good. Also who doesn't love a sparkle finish? 6 Quote

Yes, exactly: These are EBMM "Classic" Sterlings - relatively rare birds. 2-Band, no switch (pickup permanently wired in series), figured maple necks with gloss finish, six-bolt neck joints, bridge with mutes, chrome truss wheel and battery compartment cover, slab one-piece ash bodies. Edit: I just realised I forgot to mention the best feature: The Classics have small "vintage" frets which were an absolute revelation to me. Edited November 1 by wavemaker 1 Quote

I have the same, first run from 2018. Recently wanted to part with it, but just could not and pulled out the ad after getting the first offer. Quote
Musicman666 Posted November 6 Posted November 6 the finish on this 90s stingray has seen better days but for some reason it plays better than ever. 3 Quote
uk_lefty Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) My Stingray acquired a little brother this morning. I think the previous owner has had the fingerboard professionally replaced, and a very good job has been done too. Hardware and electronics are not great but am hoping I can pickup some secondhand upgrades. Update: I am told by the previous owner it was bought as new in fretless. Lovely stuff.
