I'm not entirely sure that it works correctly since for optimum fretless playing action it should be raising the fingerboard not lowering the frets. Are there many instances where a bassist would want to live play both styles in the same song? So what's the benefit over just having two basses? Vinny Posted October 10, 2014 Share Posted October 10, 2014 I bought a similar sort of thing for 30 quid off of the ebay, Its a P copy, and all you have to do is undo 4 phillips head screws at the back of the body and the entire neck can be changed for a fretless one. [/quote] Yes, indeed there was. Thanks for reminding me. It came (or could come, Idunno) with a case that had a neat space for the extra neck. I think this must have been no later than 1986, probably before, as it was in a mag I subscribed to until '85/'86. Must still have that mag somewhere.
