Is it me or does it seem that those of us that managed to get basses through Reverb in August got bloody great deals! The more I hear and read, the better it seems!

Not wrong, I got myself a cracking US made NS5 XL, in Quilted Maple, thanks to this tread - reminds me, I said I'd get some photo's up here......
Hmmm.... I wonder if Arbiter will do a 'silly sale' on the Spectors they have left? Not that I need any more you understand....  :)

Another interesting development is that Amazon are now officially selling Spectors.... see here:

Amazon Spectors
Amazon are acting as a sort of agent for Musician's Friend. I bought a Steinberger part from Amazon and it actually came from MF and all teh customer service was through them. Part still hasn't arrived.

I know of a black cherry Euro 4LX that is one of the last SC liquidation ones that is going very cheap. Thanks to WH's fabulous networking to find a blue one, I managed to hear about this other one. Let me know if anyone's interested.

Thank God.

You finally bit the bullet, I'm proud of you John!

A local(ish) Spector outlet who are getting it direct from Arbiter... in ultra amber! I'm pretty confident in the QC dept but it's always a bit nail biting.

Pics to follow and if I can get hold of a set of DR Sunbeams, a bit of A/B comparison with a Stage I.

Unusual that they are both in Edinburgh and the guy also has a load of stuff that looks like music store gear!

Do you have your bass and how are you finding it?

It's not arrived yet. It's shipping today - missed the Friday collection. It's coming TNT and I'm hoping it'll be here on Wednesday.

I'm preparing myself for a bit of a culture shock as I've always been into the classic Leo-derived bolt-on neck basses like Js and Ps and Laklands. I liked the feel of the Peavey neck-thru I bought (from WH) but the pre-amp just didn't cut it. Incidentally that bass is now in Southern France with a very happy new owner.

As if on cue, another reminder that I need to rein in some excesses.

I was just PMing eubassix about another one of my past basses and commenting that as far as vices go, buying and selling on BC isn't half as expensive as a night out with the lads 'clubbing'! :)

I've been following this and other Spector threads with my Spector GAS snowballing!

Chatting to Alan, John and others it seems like the whole package in terms of Eronomics, tone and build quality is just what I'm after. A Warwick style NT in a quality that Warwick I think have lost.

Despair, the reasonable prices of late with Sound Control going down have all shot up to between £898 and £1099

Then, courtesy of Sean I was pointed towards a Black Cherry EuroLX4 and although it was priced initially at £899 a double check revealed the correct price to be £599.

Guess what?

Wednesday.

:)
dont think that ebay seller is RedDogMusic.
Tell us about your one warwickhunt!
It mustn't be Red Dog otherwise the bass would be sold but it is one heck of a coincidence.

Never mind my bass... it looks like every T, D & H on BassChat is gonna be in receipt of Spectors this week! :)

Watch this thread for a glut of feedback and Spector porn.

I've a Mum who's nearly ninety and won't notice, and a daughter who earns a sight more than me and will just say 'Oh Dad!'
I live with my brother who earns much more than me and to whom I owe money for utility bills etc, so there was no chance I was going to get off so lightly.

heads up that RDM also have a USA spector 5 string in natural. i think it was about £1000 or just over.

sean i wouldnt worry too much. Everything will sort itself out, they are a good company in an established base, not some scamming student from brighton/birmingham.
