Did that come stock with the gold knobs?

Mine has those cheap plastic ones.
Nope, ordered them from AxesRUS, Born2BeMild wanted the same thing back in August so there is a topic about it, I'm just too lazy to look for the link.

AxesRUS are very good by the way, helpful and very quick. Big thumbs up!

Missed out on some bargains there didn't I!

I've been using nothing but a Euro LX35 for a couple of years now, anyone else got one? It's the 4 string 35" scale neck, my current tuning is CGCF and it's perfect for that. If i remember I'll post some pictures tonight.

One thing I would say for anyone considering a Spector is definitley try one first. I went from a flat topped Peavey Millenium and it took a couple of weeks to get used to the curve (I'm a pick player 85% of the time and rest my wrist on the bass) but now I wouldn't change it for anything!

+1 for the Spector chat.

I've got a Legend 4 - the cheapo version of Spector basses, but it's a monster for the money. After I set it up to my liking, I can't play anything else for long periods of time without wanting to go back to my own.

I can get better tone from some more expensive instruments - I was playing a lovely F. Jazz the other day with custom pickups - but the feel of my own just keeps calling me back.

Not bad for £350!

I can't wait to have enough pennies for a high-end Spector mind you.

the Euros above belonging to Mike Brooks,Lifer and Josh are all beautiful looking. as is cetera's newest black cherry aquisition in the FS section. (I'd have had that if I'd seen it! -I'm mostly thinking this week of Spector Euro 4s)

btw which Euros have the black hardware? It says on the site that they come with gold or black h/ware. I've only ever seen a matte black one with black bridge and tuners.
You know what gets on my tits about Spectors (well the Euro LX ones) on the natural finish headstocks the serial is just printed on with really crappy ink, you can't even tell the second letter is supposed to be a B on mine and I've seen it on loads of others too.
If ever there was a reason NOT to buy one eh? :)

I did a gig last night with my Spector Euro. It was a pretty short set, 6 songs: Holy Diver, Nothing Else Matters, 2 originals, Down with the sickness and Take the Power back.

There were 3 other bands playing with us, and I can safely say that the Spector killed all the other basses in terms of tone  (The other guys had some nice gear too, a USA jazz and a Warwick $$) We didn't get too long to soundcheck and couldn't get a very mellow tone to do our acoustic original and Nothing else Matters, but it cut through 2 heavy distorted guitars amazingly.

It was a fun gig, my first gig at a real venue actually. (Carling Academy 2 Sheffield) We even managed to get circle pits going during our set, and a mosh going though one of the other band's songs (An indie band!) :)

 • 1 month later...
Sorry to dredge up an old thread (though I'm sure one or two folks won't mind  )!

Did anyone buy an amber/amberburst finish Spector in these various sales that is now wanting to move it on? I can do cash or a trade if you still need a bass.

PM me any thoughts.

Ta :)
Can I dangle mine over your head until you get one?
