How do I post a picture using photobucket? When I try to post a picture I only get a url link copy option and that's proper boring.

In Photobucket select the pic you want and copy the 'Direct' link. Then click the little green 'image' square (to the right of the 'link' icon in the Basschat post editor), paste the direct link in the box provided, et... violin! :)

I'll try as I can't seem to get it to work

When I look at that photo on Flickr click on "sharing" and select the BBCode (which is what you need to post it here) I get a message saying that "Sharing is restricted for this photo".

However by looking at the source code for the site I was able to get the URL of the image, so entering:

[code][/code]

should get you this:

[b]Flickr drives me MAD[/b] [b]looking for the url code![/b] You have to go through several stages to find it. They changed it a while ago and now no one knows how to link to a .jpeg photo anymore. Mind- bogglingly Idiotic.

The stupid thing is that they make it difficult to supposedly prevent others copying your photographs, but as my previous post shows, accessing the photos is trivial for anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of HTML.

Haha, yeah, my dad's alpacas.
So did you copy that into photo bucket? Do Dropbox links not work like they would if I pasted the link into the 'post image' function (which is not available on my phone/ipad)?

I clicked the link, that took me to dropbox, then saved to Photobucket.
In Photobucket, copied the URL link and pasted into my post.
Might be easier ways, but works for me.

Ok thanks. I've previously always used Dropbox, but maybe time to venture into Photobucket

It's a question of using the right tools for the job.

Dropbox is fine for sharing files with a limited number of people who are most likely going to view them on their computer or mobile device, but if you want to add images to your forum posts you need an image host, and ideally one that automatically that provides IMG tags.
