Thanks chaps, as well as the ebay staff member putting an appeal in, I also went into the case and appealed it and wrote them out exactly what's happened and how stupid this situation is and what are they going to do to sort it out.

I was told I'll be contacted within 48 hours, so I'll update when I know, if it's bad news from there then I will name the seller. I also haven't left them feedback yet so I'm just waiting for things to be clear then I'll leave them negative feedback saying what a joke of a service they have.

A lot of these decisions are automated- and not actually a human looking at a case.

Ok so Ebay were useless, didn't contact me so I contacted them and was told I would have to wait another 3 days before I'm contacted.

I contacted my bank and they said as long as I inform Paypal that I'm going to make a claim then they can do it. So I did that and my bank have given me my money back in full There was a G3 on gumtree but it's gone

I left negative feedback for the seller, however I then got an email from ebay saying ebay have deleted my feedback because I lost the case.

Please don't deal with them as you will also most likely be robbed of your money and your item just like I was.

My bank did say that paypal could dispute it and take me to court, but there's no worry of that as I'm not a fraudster.

So, on the lookout for a G3! Wanted thread to be made!

Well FINALLY I have some great news, took a trip to Denmark Street and after going in 3-4 shops I went into NoTomGuitars and what do I see sitting in a corner?

That's right, a 1979 G3

Played it and got it.

As Larry Graham once said POW I Gotcha!

Also comes with original hard case and 3 years warranty and free setups in that time.

Funnily enough, eBay just messaged me saying we have been sent your item, please tell us your correct address and we will send it back to you, I replied saying that I have already taken action and explained what I've done so I don't want the item and return it to the seller. I made it very clear that I do not want it, I said it 3 times

This G3 is simply amazing, it sounds and plays just as I hoped!

I have taken the bridge cover off as it gets in the way when I'm playing (pick player)

I put on two of my favourite albums by Green Day, Dookie and Insomniac and blasted through them and loved it. Dirnt says he recorded Dookie with a precision but some of those songs have got to be a G3!

He definitely played a G3 or a Grabber around the Dookie era so it's possible!

Picked up a 1976 G-3 last year and they're great basses. Not everyones cup of tea, but I think they look and sound superb

Funnily enough, I played that EXACT one when I was up there 2 weeks ago! Played lovely, however the 66 P Bass was the one I fell in love with, just gotta save up some money to be able to afford it!

That's funny, it does play really well, thanks for not buying it!

I don't think I spotted that, there was a 70s p that looked to have a single coil, but to be honest I was in tunnel vision just looking for a G3 that I didn't pay much attention to others, especially when I found the G3! Hopefully it won't take you too long to save up for the 66

That '66 used to be mine. I sold it here on Basschat last year for £3500, now it's up for £5995 in Denmark Street! Don't get me wrong, I was happy and realistic with the £3500 so I had a sweet smile when I walked in and was happy to see it again.

Yeah the vid to Basket Case has him with a Gibbo which looks like one of these in.Of course vids don`t necessarily mean the instrument was used in the recordings but I always though that the tones on Dookie were very un-Fender-like.

It's a commission sale so the shop are pricing accordingly to the owners wishes I guess? Ron who owns NoTom is a spot on Gent. I think the guy who got it from me is buying a house so is selling some lovely old basses, this one included.

I doubt they'll get the full asking price. There's always the real 'sale price' and then the 'hanging on the wall price'!
