I'm looking for some suggestions for some covers that have simple bass parts, sound OK with just guitar, bass and drums and that people at a chilled out non-cheesy wedding would enjoy. Obviously it depends on your guitarist to a point and I guess some of it will be unsuitable for a wedding but it all used to go down a storm here. Best of luck. KevB Posted July 31, 2013 Share Posted July 31, 2013 (edited) I've done lead on a few through the years, in addition to already mentioned if your wedding guests like some Stereophonics then both Dakota and Have A Nice Day are simple for bass/vox combined. Kinks All Day and All of the Night easy too (though I think I sing it a bit more like the Stranglers cover!) and if you want to get more laid back I found that Cat Stevens' Wild World isn't too difficult either, even managed to slip in the guitar fill as the guy i was jamming it with wasn't sure of that bit. Dr Dave from this site fronts a rock/blues trio but i think he's on holiday at the moment, his band will have ahuge list as they have been going a long time. steve-bbb Posted July 31, 2013 Share Posted July 31, 2013 with weddings it would be expected that there will be all ages groups there so would be good to throw in a decent selction of stuff from 60s 70s 80s (skip the 90s that was mostly pants) and maybe even a big one from the 50s 60s and 80s in particular there are oodles of good tunes and you should be spoilt for choice depending on how well you know th e wedding party would dictate what tunes to suggest - if only acqauintances then a safe selection would be appropriate - if you all know them really well and they have a good sense of humour then you could be a bit more adventurous with the selection Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
