A bit of a stooshie going on up here regarding the use of music for political purposes...I can def hear the similarity but how close is too close?

Also the SNP/Independance group did not seek permission to use the tune.] according to BC ( the other BC )

What a surprise.

The 'authorised' version is used by the 'yes' to independance party whilst the nicked version has the Westminster crowd behind it.

Big vote winner that, southerners nicking a Scottish bands music and claiming they haven't.
Just when I thought politicians couldn't get any more blatantly thick... <_<

EDIT: Or have I got the parties back to front?

Panties or parties asides , it is quite easy! The Pro independants are accused of stealing the original and the anti independants are accused of stealing the original..........

Well, authorised by the record company maybe, but against the band's wishes, it would seem. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-18594520

In any case, all that Scotch bagpipe music has the same tune anyway, something to do with size of the holes they drill in the finger-tube that goes into the blowing-bag.

Sorry to get a bit technical, but there you go.

There's nothing more embarrassing than seeing a politician trying to interact with music of any description. They are completely clueless and even more embarrassing when they are asked what their favourite bands are.

I think it should be a pre-requisite that anyone wanting to be a politician should be automatically banned from becoming a politician.

Parliament - a bad soap opera with a cast of ugly bad actors.
