I just have a small question...what P bass is this? http://www.blocket.se/vi/40865127.htm I'm suspecting its a P special MIA but it doesnt have the typicall Logo. It might be an American standard but it doesnt have the string through holes? All I know is that its from 2004 Would be thankful for your help! Cheers! The Fender logo is right for a Highway and you can just see the top of the trussrod adjuster in the headstock shot which is right for an older model (new Highways have the adjuster at the heel end like a regular MIA). I think they're around that price new, and that's with the graphite reinforced neck, some upgraded electrics and a badass II bridge. I paid around £350 for mine some years ago, but having said that, I wouldn't part with it for £700+. I hear talk that they can be a bit "hit and miss", but if you get a good one they're very, very nice, in my opinion. I have a couple of american G&Ls and a Lakland, and they sit at home sulking while me and the HW1 are out having fun. I used to have an American Standard, and for my money, my HW1 is every bit as good, if anything I love it more. That one looks very nice with all the added extras, but without playing it, I wouldn't personally fork out over £700 for it. [/quote] Anything from 8 to £12 upwards sometimes. Stockholm is incredibly expensive, and I wouldn't advise buying an instrument from over in Sweden because the prices of stuff is very high (although in relation to salaries in the country it all works out). The newer Highway One instruments have a 70's logo, but I'm sure the earlier 00's just had a plain logo like this one. Check the bridge, HW1 does not have the 4 holes for string through. Ask the seller for the serial number & send Fender a email for proof. With the (non standard) hardcase, chrome covers & thumbrest (not quite in the standard place), I'd say it's been modified to look like something else, but definitely a HW1. Shame about the extra string tree I've no idea what the going rate for Fenders is in Stockholm but I'd say if it's what you want, it looks in perfect condition, with the extras it's not [i]too[/i] dear, if it plays as good as it looks Mine has barcode/0061286-950 under pickup which gives this Fender Service Diagram. This could, of course, have been replaced at some time, for some strange reason, but combined with the lack of glossy finish, the lack of string-through holes and the truss rod adjustment being at the wrong end of the neck, I'd struggle to believe this was an American Standard. Edit: To further complicate matters, further research seems to indicate that there was no 2004 American Standard. They became the American Series, with the addition of the S-1 switch, in 2004. The American Standard was only reintroduced in 2008. All in all it's looking like the best thing to do is, KiOgon said, ask for the serial number.
