Bloc Riff Nut Posted March 31, 2011 Share Posted March 31, 2011 I used cheap duct tape to tape down a few cables at our last gig. ;-( When removing the tape I only pulled of half of it, it left the glue all over the cables. A google search revealed this - 1,First, spray WD40 into an old rag. 2 ,Wipe the sticky area with the rag until the sticky residue comes off. 3 ,If the residue does not come off right away, just apply more WD40 to the rag and continue. matski Posted April 1, 2011 Share Posted April 1, 2011 Zippo lighter fuel is also good for removing sticky residue and greasy fingerprints etc - and it also evaporates away leaving no residue of it's own. A few yrs ago someone sent me an advert stating what WD40 could do and the guy did actually drink it although he did say not to try this at home.
