1.
Do you have any empirical data to prove this? While the MkIII version may get some stick, I don't think you can ignore the groove of Mistreated and I doubt Glen Hughes on his own could give it the same soul. Better or different?
Different of course. All three had a lot to offer. Hughes impresses me most.
 2.
And Glover. What's your point?
Just lightheartedly noting that it hasn't quite got everything we might associate with Purple whilst cheekily suggesting that IG (and for that matter GH) are better vocalists than Coverdale.
 3.
What's your favorite Deep Purple track? Burn. It's got everything.
Except Gillan.
 4. Freedom of creative expression must be protected. If I wanted to start a band of particularly tall people, because my artistic vision required it. Then surely I could place an ad stating "Only those over 6ft tall will be considered."

 6. ...and you left it all in the van whilst you had a drink after the gig.
 7.
If it improves the quality of the performance. I`m all for using a tablet. Does anyone watching a band really care if someone uses a tablet?
That kind of attitude caused a lot of trouble for the Russians.
 8.
Irrelevant fact - the date stamped on the neck of the bass is the same week my wife was born.
"23" is the code number for Tele basses, not the date.
 9. The original post has been moved to Off Topic. A post about Rick Parfitt's death remains in General discussion. I don't know why.
 10.
Sweet Home Alabama has a dig at Neil Young in it
The bitter, stinging rebuke "A Southern man don't need him around here anyhow." Hmmm. Happy Family by King Crimson is about The Beatles.
 11.
Mr Big...by..er...Mr Big.
Their cover of the Free song. Night Ranger - Night Ranger
 12. Sheehan, Billy Gibbons and Steve Hackett were all doing it before EVH. None of this matters of course.
 13.
Its an ex post-war council house and the walls are made of [s]cheese [/s] some kind of grey powder which is very easy to drill through. Probably why its not so solid. To be fair, that is the oldest one of those I put there and has been there for nigh on 10 years now.
Sounds like you have drilled through the render only. Make sure you drill into the brick/block next time and that the plugs are pushed into this.
 14. It's trendy internet speak "I'm about to pull the trigger on a new P bass" etc. Like when people refer to inanimate objects as "bad boys".
 15. To start with: when the drummer plays the bass drum, the bass plays a note.
 16.
Anyone playing a great bass line or riff in the last 60 years has probably nicked it themselves. If you have any personality as a player you'll make what you play sound like you, so it won't matter where it came from. Me? If I can fit it in I'll use it.
This is my approach too, but sometimes the thought enters my head "What if someone here is intimately acquainted with every lick Andy Fraser ever played" etc...
 17.
Care home staff!
Ahh. Best ignore my previous post.
 18. What kind of works do? Office - drink half a bottle of wine and go and muck about with their computers on Monday morning. Farmers - drink half a bottle of wine and go and drive their tractors Monday morning. Retail - drink half a bottle of wine and go and create an interesting display in their shop window on Monday morning. See how they like it.
 19.
It's like eating peas with your knife. You can do it but if you have any class, you shouldn't.
Especially if Victor Wooten has done it before.
 20.
Sorry but putting your foot on the monitor (even Mr Harris) is lame.
You're the guy in the village hall!
