1. mmmm, makes things a bit more interesting then! Thanks for the info Nick. I did think it would have been an odd design to have. Just seems odd to have the speakon outputs labelled differently on the 9.2! it might be a contender for a new amp over the Streamliner 900 I was considering. I think the versatility and usability probably outweigh the specifics of the Streamliners sound. Will have to have a bit of a think!
2. Hi folks, Just checking my understanding of this, the outputs of the 9.2 are parallel so whichever speakon output I use for a single cab will get either of the channels through them (if I wanted to switch from the FET to the Tube and vice versa). However on the 12.2 version the outputs are per amp, one for amp a and one for amp b. So if I only have one cab and use the amp a output I won't get any sound if I wanted to switch to the other channel. If I did I'd need to use two cabs. Even further to this each channel would come out of the separate cabs, so each time I used one channel on it's own I'd only be using one cab. Bit of a bummer if your cabs are different sizes with therefore different characteristics. Also the only way to get the most power would be to mix the channels limiting your sound options! Hopefully I misunderstand this!
3. Man, way too far for me but that looks fantastic
4. If you like the passive 'old skool' vibe the Radial JDI is supposed to be pretty good, and being passive needs no power
5. Hey cheers again guys, lots of stuff to consider. Just to let you all know I don't use any effects or compression but I am after a slightly more warmer sound, hence the streamliner over the shuttle. Oh and I don't need the volume that my 600w amp pushes out normally, however if I've got the option of lots of headroom available with a less strained amp I think I'll go for that at some point, thanks peeps
6. Hey, cheers guys. It's nice to know you can ask a question and get a decent response quickly. Makes sense know, as stated above the physical connection would be a daisy chain but the electrical one is parallel, the same as if I used both speakon outputs on my shuttle
7.
and going on another thread - don't lend it to anyone!
Lol!
8. Hi folks, I've just got off here a couple of Markbass cabs (TRV 151 P and a TRV 121 H) both 8 ohm cabs rated at 400W. I've also got a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 12 T and am currently using the head of that to run them. As it seems that there are still a few Genz Benz bargains about at the moment would it be a no no to get a Shuttle 9.2 or Streamliner 900 and run it through these two cabs? If I used the pair I'd have 800w cab rating but the head would push out around 900w at full tilt (not that I'd be going that loud anyway). Also using a single cab I'd have an extra 100w too much going through the 400w cab. I've also read you can use any head with any cab, just use your ears, also even a lower powered head can damaged a higher rated cab with the wrong EQing, and that a cab will mechanically fail (at the cone?) before the voice coils will overheat etc What should I listen out for to avoid damage etc etc . The world of amps and cabs have floated on by until recently as I've been too preoccupied with that 'perfect' bass search until recently !! Any suggestions please?
9. Hey guys, I've been informed that the two speakon inputs that are on each of my cabs are wired in parallel. In usage what does this mean please? E.g. If I daisy chain from one cab to the other what will the overall ohms rating be, 16 ohms? I run a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 head at the moment. Cheers, any info would be great
10. mmmmm, to had into the mix is it a b5 or a #4 lol!
11. Hey folks, Just went to see and bought a Markbass cab from Fatos. Nice guy, easy deal and sold for a good price. Would not hesitate to deal with again, Peace.
12. Just sold James my Genz cab, another easy deal with a quick turnaround, deal with confidence guys and gals!
13. Hey victor, really liking your stuff, hope you find someone suitable for the b lines !
14. mmm, I think the body on this is bubinga, neck ovangkol and the fretboard wenge IIRC, a nice combo of woods tbh, just too many strings for my simple mind
15. mmm, it could be the connections in the jack are loose/worn. I've got two wicks and one of them does this, a crackle/pop type sound when I wiggle the jack lead a certain way. Saying all that the other one was doing this, changed the battery and it stopped I think, always try that one hey
16. Well done, if you ever want to move it on ask us hey!! Enjoy
17. It is nice, you can see it here (http://www.shukerguitars.co.uk/jbassgallery.html) on Jon's site. Might be tempted but the price will probably sky rocket in the last few moments
18. Hi there, just out of interest and for other BCers where are you based please?
19. Yeah, I'm tempted by one as well. Find it hard to justify though as my shuttle 6.0 is great, just not that warm, or not as warm as I want it to be.
20. Just bought a gigged but not abused MarkBass cab from Jim. No hassle what so ever, a cuppa and chat to boot. Would deal with again no problems at all, Peace.
