1. All interesting stuff, I'm still a bit bewildered though!
2. Anyone thought of a Djembe? The amount of different tones you can get out of one of those played well is really ace!!
3. Please delete
4. Well I've got two cabs of theirs, a 2011 made TRV 121H and a 2012 TRV 151P (both bought off here used). The 121 is made from ply whereas the 151 is made from Italian MDF. I asked Markbass about the change in materials for the cab and it was put down to constant improvements of some sort on their part. Now I mentioned this to a friend and he commented that the MDF would be more consistent in it's make up and perhaps produce a better tonal result. Either way I'd prefer ply for both cabs, however they both sound ace. It does look like if I want/need some more in the future I'll go for some more used ones though.
5. I play both and love the change from fretted to fretless, sound and feel wise. The last few basses I've had I've always tried to get a fretless version to accompany it's fretted cousin . However I also can't think of any recent popular music that uses one!
6. Wow, great price for a great bass type bump! I've had one of these before and the necks are the best I've played so far with a nice burpy sound as well!
7.
Shuttle is tight and bright streamliner is big fat old school tube tone with a very sweet treble. Both great but depends on the cab you pair it with.... Streamliner can be fussy on cab matches.
....see above lol!!
8. Well I've just sent back 3 ShuttleMax12,2s, not because they sound bad, just had a few issues with them (1st one a power input housing clip cracked, 1st replacement was a return (bought a new one) and the last one got squashed by someone in transit to me!). I liked the versatility of the two channels, and I thought the overdrive on the tube channel was fine (at least for what I wanted!). The FET channel did sound really nice (through my two Markbass cabs). I did notice the fan on the ones I had was louder than I would have expected, but I guess when the band is playing no-one would hear it anyhow. I now have a Shuttle 9.2 and a Streamliner 900 (oh, and an old Shuttle 6.0). I really dig the 9.2, great sound via the above cabs with a decent amount of drive needed if that is what you're after. I've only played with the Streamliner in the house and so far the one thing that I really like is the treble control, if you turn it down it's not too far off a passive tone control on a Jazz or P, really nice tone. I haven't head that much difference in warmness between the two, I suppose my cabs do tend to give a warmer sound anyhow. One thing to point out is the 9.2 is smaller than the Streamliner, not by much, but if that is an issue it might be worth mentioning. Any more questions just ask
9. Yeah, informative stuff. I tested my single Genz 12" against a Trace 2 x 15 " a while back and the Genz was easily as loud. I'm quite surprised the bricks didn't crack at what we had it at!!
10. Great work there Bill!
11.
Well there is your european Sadowsky equivalent. Btw, what does that switch do? Never seen a switch on Blade.
Any news on the controls please? Cheers.
12.
My P with Jazz neck...
That is really nice, top trumps there!
13. I had a few lessons with a private teacher just regarding my playing, after I learned what I needed to help I stopped having lessons. Expensive, yes, but if they help overcome/help with injury then worth it I think. However with all things you have to put into practice what you learn, now that's the part I find hard lol
14. nice original design you have there
15. Hey folks, I've had a play on this when I tried out all of Martyn's basses and it sounded and played very well .
16. Hey folks, I used Transferwise (www.transferwise.com) when I bought a bass from Denmark on here and actually paid no fees at all (I think as a first time user!) I too was shocked at having to pay over the odds for money crossing international boundaries so did some digging on the net and came across the site . It's already been pointed out on here (http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1), hope this helps.
17. I think a LTD edition would also have a number plate on the rear of the headstock and be signed by Hans Peter Wilfer, however there could always be an exception I suppose
18. Very nice type bump!

20. Thanks for all your comments, the shop has agreed to take the amp back and it will be going back in the New Year when Fender UK are back from their hols. Hopefully the next one will be in the condition that I expect a new one should be, if not I'll give up and ask for a refund !
21. Shimming the neck isn't that much of a job really. I'm sure if you search on here you'll find a thread on it or maybe someone local to you could help?
