1. Hi @ FunkyDunky I got it as Brand-New-B-Stock from Music UK in Kidderminster via Reverb. It came in at £368 delivered, in its original packaging and to all appearances brand new untouched. There is a date code on it - 12 03 - which might indicate 2012 manufacture which could suggest it's been sold and returned as faulty, repaired and re-sold. I did the third gig with it yesterday, in a medium sized marquee, and it once again did the business without missing a beat. If you're looking for one I should save-search it on Reverb and Ebay etc. One'll come up, I'm sure. There was a non-runner (fault light on and no output) went on ebay a couple of weeks ago for £102! Good Luck! Shug
2. Blimey, Jimmy Cricket, sounds like you've had a torrid time. Used mine again last night and it performed great. I used an early 70's SVT for many years, the sound of which I've been trying to recapture ever since and this amp is just how I remember it being. I've had an SVT-VR (sh*t sound, unbelievably, and unreliable to boot) and a regular modern SVT rig (which wasn't much cop, either) in the last 5 years or so and the Buggerer is for sure better sounding. So, it's just down to the reliability. I don't imagine there's anything inside which can't be replaced so I'll carry on using it and see how it goes. Fingers crossed... Shug
3.
Have had 3 since Christmas! Bought one from Bugera Kidderminster (reconditioned) and had a microphonic valve. Instead of just sending me a new set of valves, they sent me a whole new amp. That one blew up the second I switched it on. They then sent me another one, that valve replacement lights went on within 3 days of receiving it. Opted to get a refund. It's a shame as I rate Bugera stuff (I have 2 guitar amps) and really wanted them to work. They sounded great when they worked. Also, customer service was amazing. Hope it works out for you, I've gone with a Laney Nexus tube in the end.
4. Just in from tonights gig. Bugera sounded great - big and fat and warm with lovely blooming tone. Smallish boozer with plenty of absorbent surfaces. Didn't break down, either. It's a keeper... Shug
5. Just bought a BVV3000 Infinium. Early indications are pretty promising to be fair. Already feel it to be better than the SVT-VR which I got a few years back in terms as sound quality, at least. A kitchen test shows it to be quiet (in terms of hiss and hum and background noise) and all the controls have a tight, positive feel. Although new, I bought it as B-stock with no manual, The amp is simplicity itself but I wouldn't mind a bit more info on the infinium valve condition-indicator thingie on the back. I'll have to get me printer working and download one, I guess. Got three gigs this weekend and I should be able to use it on at least two of 'em. I haven't got an 8x10 any more but my Aguilar 4x12 will be fine I'm sure.Given Bugera's rep I'll be taking a spare head... I'll keep y'all informed... Shug
6. Did you get sorted? I ask because I've just bought the same amp from the same source. How's it been for you? These are the questions I should have asked first... Cheers Shug
7. I don't get it. I love what I do but I wouldn't want to see us 50 or 60 times a year. Once in a while if it's a special occasion with a social element, sure, but every gig? Nah...

9. Thank you very much, fellahs. Wish me luck with the auction! Shug
10. Hey, Basschatters, I'm looking at a TE GP12 SMX amp head , the 280w model,on Ebay at the minute and notice from the photos that there are 2 speaker out jacks each labelled 8 ohms. I need to run a 4 ohm 8x10 cab with it and wondered if that was possible. Surely nobody'd make a transistor amp that didn't go down to 4 ohms? I'd really appreciate any thoughts you may have on this, and soon, as the auction ends Weds lunchtime! Fingers crossed Shug
11. I bought an old G&L bass from a guy in California a while back and it's got the best strings I ever used on it. Trouble is, I've no idea what they are and neither has the dealer. They're semi-flats, I think, got silver ball-ends with red silk at the bridge end and blue at the other. Other than that, no clues. I'd be dead grateful for any ideas at all Regards Shug
12. Anyone fancy my very nice '75 Sunburst, rosewood Jazz bass in exchange for a 70's slab body Stingray pref nat'l ash? The Jazz is not mint but it's in honest used condition with all the wear in the right places. The Custom Shop'd charge 1000's for this kind of relicing but I'm willing to throw it in. Frets a bit worn in 1st position but it plays fine even with my sloppy technique. Non-original case. I know this is worth a bit more than any Stingray, but I'd do a straight swap for the right bass. Anybody interested contact me and I'll sort out some pics - or we could actually meet if you're anywhere near - I'm in the NW Regards Shug
13.
Looking to downsize in the near future (guestimate at next month or two). Most probably after a straight sale, as I have the option of buying a lighter cab I like soon. May be interested in trade for a high end lighter cab though, 4x10 minimum. Just thought I'd put the feelers out to see if there would be any interest. If not, I'd put up with the weight and size for a bit longer as I love the sound of this cab, just the logistics are becoming a bit of a pain as I need to transport my upright and this cab myself to gigs! Just about room for me to actually drive my car. In good condition, no rips in carpet, grille unmarked, speakers all A1. NOTE- I'm near Glasgow, and shipping could be pricey for this cab. Cheers.
Hi - Don't know if you've still got the cab but if so let me know what you're looking at and I could have a drive up that way. Regards Shug

15.
Howdy folks. For sale today I have a lovely Marshall VBA400 and fridge. I've had it since new for some 8 years now. Its been in and out of use for much of that time, I'd say only around 5 years of real playing use. It's been in the wars a little, especially the cab (as you might expect!) so has the usual associated scrapes etc. to the tolex. Mechanically fine, and has been re-valved a few years back. I also have the old valves and will include with the amp for spares etc. One of these is blown, but unfortunately I didn't mark which. Cretin! Has been in a studio for the last year or so and has had very light use there. The cab is fully functioning sound-wise but has severely damaged wheels that would need to be replaced before using it really - unless you have a well-trained drummer to lug it about with you. Will take pictures at rehearsal tomorrow. Also am happy to sell separately to aid a sale, although would rather sell them as a pair for obvious reasons. From looking at the others for sale here I'm thinking around the £650 mark for the head + 7 6550's, £250 for the cab due to its dilapidated state. £800 the pair. Paid around £1600 for this rig (and got a bit of a deal) so bargain central here. As for trades, looking for quite a bit of stuff at the mo. Amps with a valve pre/SS power would be nice, and looking for a decent replacement for a Mesa 4x10 I sold recently. Also in the market for a pretty Jazz and thinking about getting an acoustic bass for jamming - but any trades not involving a cab would need to be +cash, as I'll need to replace the cab for gigging soon. Hope this little tidbit tempts someone... The joys of GAS! *edit for photo* More / high quality photos to come next week - sorry folks, I'm away this weekend.
Hey,Doktor You still got the cab? Regards Shug
16. dr gonzo don't be embarrassed. If you still got cab, call me and and we'll do a deal. Don't make me beg, now. regards Shug

1970 Ampeg SVT
those sad days are over and I'm trying not to give myself a hard time for selling the first one. I really can't wait to get this gigged, although the volume won't get as high as we used to play, I don't care. Linden NJ 1970 Ampeg SVT, untouched and as far as I can see very little use, all the original factory tubes including the ultimate 6550's made by Tung Sol in NJ, just heaven. Here's a few internal pic's
Oh, man I've gone all funny .I had one of these for years but the mains transformer burnt out and the guy who had it rewound didn't do it to the right spec amd it was never the same again. I wish to god I hadn't sold it though. This one looks a real find. Where'd you find him? I feel a bit sick Shug

25. I bought this as part of my now abandoned search for a lightweight rig to replace a Marshall vba400 and 8x10. The Demeter is in pretty much mint condition having, I imagine, been in a rack all its life as is the power amp( Sound Lab 350w) I'm throwing in with it.The rack is a 6u moulded plastic job in 'as new' aside from a small crack in a corner of one of the lids. None of these items have been subjected to the rigours of the road. The Demeter is a legendary piece of pro kit - look at their user list to see what I mean. Absolutely plain and simple in terms of form and function, all the money's gone into the mil-spec components inside. I'm in Lancashire if you want to take a look and can be contacted on 07956 446 754 or 01282 441 700 or 01282 778 293. Happy Trails Shug Edit- will add candid photos over the weekend now I've located usb for camera Shug
