  1. Well, y'know, it could be yours. I'm playing through it right now. It sounds as good as it looks. Better, maybe...
  2. Hi BassChatters Here's a little beauty for you. Not mint, but not a knacker either. Runs quiet as a mouse but will go VERY loud if you like. S/S pre - amp with 150watt valve power amp. Sound gorgeous and looks cool as you like. Mosyly original bar the fretcloth on the front panel which had gone way beyond relic and needed replaced. The build quality is real high end. Look at those rubber and stainless skids it sits on. All the nickel hardwear has a lovely patina and the Tolex, probably the tattiest part of this fine amplifier, is in fair to middling order. I bought this off Surroundedbymanatees during lockdown and it was given a clean bill of health by the tech I use at that time. It's seen little use since then. 4 x 6L6 GC's by JJ which look (and sound) to be pretty new. Caps look to have been replaced in 2019 (see pics). 23"x 10" x 9" approx Weight is 33lbs Anything you feel I might have missed just get in touch. Collection preferred but will happily courier at cost. Thanks for looking Shug
  3. Nice one! Looks like Mesa sold already. Flyin start... Love to you two, too xxx
  4. And on it goes... PRICE NOW REDUCED TO £350 Having lately acquired a little Eich 500 Pro combo, this good ol' boy is now surplus to requirements. Decent nick, no rips or tears that I can see, F on the logo slightly amiss and a bit of a crackle on the master volume but only on start up. This great combo has done a ton of gigs for me without any issues at all. I sold it about 6 months ago but missed it and bought it back. Now I've got the Eich, though, it's time for her to move on. Roqsolid cover which I altered to fit a 210 cab I had a while back but have reconfigured to sit on the combo again. Ain't pretty but does the job just fine. Just about the best combo you can get at the price and I've been saying that for years now. Sounds great, looks cool and as light as a feather. What more could you ask? Will ship at cost or you're welcome to come over and try her out. Thanks for looking Cheers Shug 07539 237 291
  5. More goodies for the New Year * PRICE REDUCED TO £350 * Up for sale is my AG500 head, nice and racked up in 2u Thoman sleeve. Great sounding and versatile with legendary Aguilar build quality. Clean used condition. Having a major clear out - have lately found that it is possible to have too much gear. I'm trying to get it down to one big rig and one tiny little rig, so this fella ain't getting used like he should. Everything works as it should. Probably a bit o' rack rash on the casing but nothing to be concerned about Will courier at cost or you're welcome to come over and check it out. Let me know so's I can tidy up. Happy New Year to y'all Thanks for looking Shug 07539 237 291
  6. Nah. The cloth grill isn't compatible with the steel fronted cab construction,😽
  7. New Years Clearout... More listings to follow... Up for sale here is a nice and clean Boogie head which I bought from Bass Direct. It's USA voltage and comes with a transformer for use in UK and Europe. Great sounding amp with any cab you care to use it with. Few superficial marks on top but pretty clean otherwise. Given clean bill of health by the tech who does all my stuff and maybe had some bits replaced when I first got it. Don't recall exactly what but I know he charged me £70, so nowt major. Comes with the aforementioned transformer, 2 cables, a home made pad for stopping any vibration from the cab and all in a high quality Peli type case. VID_20240103_160857.mp4
  8. Happy New Year, y'all! Anybody out there wanna swap my Barefaced Big Twin 3 (latest model) with steel grill for the same with a cloth grill? I'd be happy to look at a 610 or even, maybe, a Super Twin - the important thing being the cloth grill, silver for preference but black would do. I'm super pleased with the BT3 in all respects, but should've ordered the cloth fronted version in the first place. Mine comes with BF cover and is clean as a whistle. For full disclosure, it did suffer a small amount of falling cymbal damage to the top front edge in the first few months of its life but I got a touch up kit from BF and you would not know. I got the cab in March 22 so it's about run in. Any takers? ,Shug 07539 237 291
  9. Talk about me like I'm not there, why doncha? But seriously, have had certain technical difficulties which I'll attempt to rectify later. As for the location, I was mistaken in my belief it was listed automatic-like. Lancashire, by the grace of God... Meanwhile, it's gratifying to see so much interest in the house. Just wait 'til you see her...
  10. Time to move this very nice upright on. I bought it off a friend during lockdown thinking it might come in for a project. It didn't. He bought it from Hobgoblin Music about 5 or 6 years ago. It is Czech in origin, apparently, though I'm not certain how you tell, tbf. I'm no upright player but it's a sight easier to handle than the Chinese built Antonini I got from Gear4Music about a decade ago and appears to be a cut or 2 above your basic student instrument. I've got a good quality stand for it and a canvas-type gig bag which I'll include in the sale. I'm not gonna post this but I'll be accommodating around a meet-half-way kind of deal. Thanks for looking. Any queries PM me or call on 07539 237 291
  11. Just got me some reggae and dub cd's off this fella and very nice too. Deal with confidence! Shug
  12. It is more than viable. Done it a few times. TE heads, though heavy compared to a quilter or Mark Bass or whatever don't weigh all that much. I'm pretty feeble but can manage one ok. It's the cabs that are out of the question these days. TE heads are worth preserving and using if you can be bothered. Sound great and dead reliable, IME. Worth nowt, though. Last TE head I sold on Ebay a few years ago - an SMX350 IIRC - brought about £125. Shoulda kept it, really, but a deal's a deal...
  13. Jesus, it's a little bit sad how little these fine items are valued. I'd hazard this'll be a future classic, not to mention being a profoundly useful piece of quality gear in the here and now. I'd do a gig with it tomorrow, no problem. They're not even that heavy... Bristol, eh? Let me think...
  14. I haven't read every single word of this thread, so forgive me if this has already been said, but there is no conundrum here. Just get an 8 x 10 and be done with it. Nobody wants 'em these days and they can be picked up pretty cheap. Don't skimp and get a Behringer or whatever, get yourself a proper Ampeg or old Trace. Don't get a 4x10, either. Regardless of the volume needed, an 8x10 just plain sounds better. I used a full rig like that for years and years in pubs and clubs and never, ever was thought too loud and that was mostly in a fairly laid back sort of country-ish type band. Got a hell of a lot of compliments on the sound, though... All the bulk is in the vertical, so they don't really take up any more room onstage than a regular combo. You've got the head, you're obviously young and strong so just go for it would be my advice, FWIW. Nobody ever regretted getting the best thing for the job.
  15. Hard to see from the pics, nice and clear though they are, are they like a P bas pickup in size and layout?
  16. I'll have this off you. Details in your inbox. Cheers Shug
  17. I suspect Barefaced margins have been steadily decreasing month on month since the last time they set their prices. I can't think of any commodity which hasn't risen in price over the last couple of years and particularly the last few months. Every single increase erodes a companies profits, whether it's timber or diesel or adhesive or teabags, it all comes off the bottom line. With a high-end and somewhat niche product like this it's surely better to preserve quality standards at the expense of pricing than the other way round? I hope Alex and his team can weather this and continue pushing out their unique product. Of course, I might be less sanguine about this had I not got my BT3 in March...
  18. I don't usually chime in on sales threads, but I have to say these are GREAT li'l items. If I didn't already have two I'd be buying this. Shug

    Cab Riser

Yea, that'd work. The only difficulty being fixing it all together. The beauty of the flightcase fittings is the they make the joins easy to execute. And keep the weight down. Spot on about back-of-car visibility, though

    Cab Riser

They are horrible. The sworn enemy of the neat pack and laden with fingertraps. Much better are these Ultimate Support jobs. Strong (within reason) unobtrusive and fold flat properly
