  2. For sale is this beautiful Spector Euro 4LX. I seriously love this bass but it's too heavy now. Although it's only 4Kg my back starts playing up around about 3/4 of an hours playing. My lightweight Roscoe is much more back friendly so that's getting all the use at the moment. I'd more than happily keep it but I've just bought a lightweight ACG and I need to pay off the credit card! I bought the bass here late last year. Original listing below. Same great used condition. It's a bass that's been played but well looked after, I think it looks fantastic. Neck, frets and trussrod are all good. No issues at all. I replaced the input socket with a Switchcraft not long ago and everything electronic wise is spot on. It's the older TonePump without the gain trim and EMG's. Bass come with a case and good leather strap with the strap locks fitted. I don't have a suitable box so its collection only. I'd be happy to drive up to 70miles from Merseyside to meet/deliver. The price is firm, lees than what I paid and I'n not interested in any trades as I really do need to pay for my latest purchase.
  3. I wish my bloody feeble back was not so bloody feeble! That has to be the coolest Jazz bass out there. I wonder how much you'd pay for a factory 'relic' as good as that? Curse my useless back!
  4. Was in the presence of Basschat royalty today as Brian himself call by to pick up my Markbass head on his way to Liverpool. A true gent and (thankfully) a dog lover!
  5. Absolute bargain! These cabs are excellent in every way. 👍
  6. Pete bought my Markbass amp bag. Great communications and fast fuss free payment. Top Basschatter! Cheers 👍
  7. I had one of these for a while that I bought off eBay. I was very impressed with it but only sold it to help fund a combo I was after at the time. I'm sorted for amps now otherwise I'd be after this as a backup.
  8. I bought this here last year and only lasted one rehearsal before going bang. 😪 Internal fuses and a cap blown as far as I know. Not bad condition, few scratches on the side. Price includes UK p&p.
  9. Markbass LMK carry bag in excellent condition. Price includes UK postage.
  10. I prefer the red! That really is lovely.
  11. Gary sold me some Bartolini pickups at a great price after responding to my wanted ad. Another top Basschatter too do business with! Cheers Gary 👍
  12. And very much enjoying it 👍🏻
  13. Recently bought an EBS amp from Andy. Top communications and a really nice guy to deal with. Cheers! 👍
  14. Tom bought my Genzler 350 head after placing a wanted add. Excellent communications and prompt fuss free payment. Many thanks and enjoy the amp!
  15. I'll remove the neck and see if there's any markings or stamps. I did take the neck off some time ago but I really can't remember if there was anything there as I was looking for the penciled date. Thanks for all your comments BTW.
  16. Why the tuners don't sit flush to the headstock is because of the way the peg is connected to the plate. I've fitted these types and to get them sitting flush I had to mark and drill out a small piece of the back of the headstock. My JV will have this type of tuner and there's obviously no provision made to get them to sit flat against the wood. It just don't look right to me but this is the only JV I've owned so I have no experience of them.
  17. Thanks for that info 👍
  18. The tuners don't bother me at all, it's just whether they are the original ones. Did your JVs tuners sit flush to the headstock? The weight of mine feels slightly heavier than 9lbs but not by much. It was lighter than my US ones though. Also, I remember playing on a white JV that was very light.
  19. Thanks. The tuners were on the bass when I bought it although they don't look 40 years old. In fact the whole bass looks pretty new. Probably (I hope) spent most of its life in a case.
  20. I need some opinions on this bass that I acquired earlier this year. It was an eBay purchase, not from a Basschatter I'd like to add. Anyhow, at the time I was looking to get another US Pbass but this one popped up and it looked pretty good. First of all no obvious modifications and added pickups, secondly the superb condition and the price wasn't OTT like some others I had seen. I've never owned a JV but the ones I've had a go on really impressed so I thought lets go for it. On playing the first thing I noticed was the shallow neck profile, very unlike the more chunky ones on my other Precisions. This I liked! Sound wise really growly, exactly what I wanted to hear coming out of the speaker. The only down side for me was It's slightly heaver than I was hoping for but it's by no means the heaviest and TBH wouldn't cause a problem. So on the whole I'm pretty happy with it. It needed setting up to my liking but I'd get around to that when I had the time. So, this is when I noticed things. First there was no date penciled in the bottom of the neck. I wondered if over time it had rubbed off but there really is no evidence of anything there. Secondly the pickup doesn't have the raised 'A' magnet and thirdly the reverse winding tuners don't sit flush on the back of the headstock. I know why this is as I've retro fitted these types of tuners and it's been a right pain in the butt. Anyhow, I removed one of these tuners but there was no evidence of any other types been fitted. i.e no extra holes. Everything else seems fine. Threaded saddles, single ply plate cloth covered wiring etc. Sounds lovely and obviously very well put together. So really I need some opinions on this please.
  21. Hi Gary Between Telford and Stafford, Newport? A Salopian here, in exile up int North. Welcome along and nice choice of gear. I have a Genzler 350 too, cracking little amp and I'd love to try the GR cabs. My gear also suggests I'm a good player, but my playing says otherwise!
  22. Greg bought my Seiko watch. A really nice chap to deal with and I, like so many others, highly recommend this top Basschatter. Cheers Greg 👍
  23. John bought my Apple wireless keyboard. No messin' no fuss! A top Basschatter to deal with 👍
  24. Thanks John. BTW, the proceeds were donated to a Greyhound rescue in North Shropshire who I've been following for some time and donated to before. Cheers 👍
