  1. Excluding anything done in school I think I was 17. Foresters Arms Broseley Shropshire. A gig I'm still trying to forget, even after all these years!

  3. Can anybody recommend a good (strong) speaker stand. Ideally big enough to carry an EBS 2x10 cab and amplifier sitting on top. Angled back (but not too much) for monitoring purposes. I've been using a stand in the practice studios where we rehearse but it's a bit flimsy and not really suited the the size of my cab. But I like what it dose so I'm after a more robust and suitable solution. Thanks

  5. Ohhh this is very tempting. These are excellent Precisions in every way and lightweight too! Is the bass collection only?
  6. Sadly putting my wonderful Vanderkley cab up for sale. Without a doubt the best cab I've ever owned but my band circumstances have changed somewhat and I no longer have the need for a cab this size. Before, we would practice at a venue with a good size stage and this cab was perfect, now we practice in a small rehearsal room where my 2x10 EBS cab is more than enough. In the 6 months of ownership I've used this cab only 3 times! Two rehearsals and one gig, it's such a waste. Though if things were to ever change, I know what cab I would get. The cab is in excellent A1 condition and so is the cover. The asking price is firm (what I paid) and I will not ship so it's collection or meet up only within reasonable distance from Merseyside. If it doesn't sell I'll hang on to it. Not interested in any trades thanks. Model: 212MNT neolite Configuration: 2×12” Neodymium drivers + tweeter Power: 600 Watts continuous power handling Impedance: 4 Ohm Freq. response: 40 Hz – 16 kHz Sensitivity: 102 dB 1W @ 1m Dimensions: H x W x D, 77 x 50 x 41 cm Weight: 25 Kg / 55 lbs

  8. There's been a number of occasions when 'cheap' gear on offer has really impressed. I remember many many years ago going for an audition at some studios in Wolverhampton. The amp I was to use was a Laney Linebacker 100 combo. I remember thinking that I wish I brought my Warwick amp and cabs along which at the time cost me a fortune. But I was really impressed with the Laney, it sounded so good with my Stingray. I never got the gig BTW, I was nowhere near cool enough to be in their trendy Indy band! I also recall going to watch a band at a local pub. By the time I got there they were already into their first set and walking through the door I was hit by the power of the bass. It was the sort of bass that thumps you right in the guts. Not necessarily muddy but punchy and deep. They were playing the typical classic rock pub stuff and the tone of the bass suited it perfectly. Again, a Laney combo (not sure what) and an old 60's Gibson EB bass. There's been many a time where I've watched bands and the bass has sounded great, while the amp has been pretty mediocre.
  9. Very happy with these but sadly I don't get much opportunity to use the 650-Vanderkley setup. I think I've only used it three times, two rehearsals and one gig. Great sound though. The little EBS rig gets most use as rehearsals are in a small practice room now and not the old club with a large stage. We have a few gigs booked so looking forward to blowing the dust off.
  10. Back in the day when I was a busy gigging weekend warrior my final set up was a Focus 4x10 and a 1x15 powered by a MarkBass Tube 800. It was a fantastic sounding and powerful rig. I bought my cabs new from Bass Direct. I can't remember how much they were but for the build and sound quality they were an absolute bargain. Having owned USA Genz Benz cabs prior to these I would say that these were every bit as good. They don't often come up for sale now, there's probably a very good reason for that!

  12. Recently bought one of Tom's wonderful ACG's and spent some quality time noodling with the others and chewing the fat. Another excellent Basschatter to do business with. Cheers! 👍
  13. Andy bought my Spector bass. Arranged an half way dodgy night time lay-by meet up to exchange merchandise and cash. Anyhow, a really top guy to deal with in every way. I highly recommend! Cheers and enjoy the bass 👍
  14. This is a cracker! I had a noodle on it yesterday while collecting one of Tom's other stunning ACG's he was selling. I'm no 5 string player whatsoever but it really was a joy to play. Top guy too 👍
  15. I recently bought these for my Spector bass that I'm now having to sell. They were taken from a newer Spector originally. Price includes UK postage.
  16. EBS MultiComp Great condition and new battery fitted. No longer needed as I now have an EBS amp with inbuilt compressor. Price includes UK postage.
  17. For sale is this beautiful Spector Euro 4LX. I seriously love this bass but it's too heavy now. Although it's only 4Kg my back starts playing up around about 3/4 of an hours playing. My lightweight Roscoe is much more back friendly so that's getting all the use at the moment. I'd more than happily keep it but I've just bought a lightweight ACG and I need to pay off the credit card! I bought the bass here late last year. Original listing below. Same great used condition. It's a bass that's been played but well looked after, I think it looks fantastic. Neck, frets and trussrod are all good. No issues at all. I replaced the input socket with a Switchcraft not long ago and everything electronic wise is spot on. It's the older TonePump without the gain trim and EMG's. Bass come with a case and good leather strap with the strap locks fitted. I don't have a suitable box so its collection only. I'd be happy to drive up to 70miles from Merseyside to meet/deliver. The price is firm, lees than what I paid and I'n not interested in any trades as I really do need to pay for my latest purchase.
  18. I wish my bloody feeble back was not so bloody feeble! That has to be the coolest Jazz bass out there. I wonder how much you'd pay for a factory 'relic' as good as that? Curse my useless back!
  19. Was in the presence of Basschat royalty today as Brian himself call by to pick up my Markbass head on his way to Liverpool. A true gent and (thankfully) a dog lover!
  20. Absolute bargain! These cabs are excellent in every way. 👍
  21. Pete bought my Markbass amp bag. Great communications and fast fuss free payment. Top Basschatter! Cheers 👍
  22. I had one of these for a while that I bought off eBay. I was very impressed with it but only sold it to help fund a combo I was after at the time. I'm sorted for amps now otherwise I'd be after this as a backup.
