1. Still here. Going on holiday now, back on May 4th
2. I'm pretty sure this was my cab many moons ago. I replaced the driver after advice from Blue Aran. It preformed brilliantly, sounded beautiful and I enjoyed many gigs with it.
3. Due to not really playing much anymore I'm putting my Streamer up for grabs. I bought this bass here last year from Phsycoandy. Pictures here: http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry1833555 It really is a players bass. fast, slim, comfortable wenge neck which is as good as any old Streamer I've owned. Like the original sales ad describes its no oil painting so the price reflects this. ON HOLD Would prefer collection, could ship in a hard case at buyers cost. Can meet up if its not too far. PM me and I'm sure something can be sorted out. Cheers, Paul
4. I think we must be pretty lucky in our band. Our drummer is good. Reliable, really reliable. Keen to learn new stuff, easy going and runs his own studio and practice rooms. Must say though that over the years before our Steve we've had a right headache with 'em.
5.
well for how cheap the cab is compared to the vanderkley I wouldn't worry to much. Taken the 410 in this week, only had a little play and it has the best midrange of any 410 I've tried and heard. My only worry is the height of it, being a tall lad on small stages I always struggle to hear backline that is short.
They are good 'eh? I've always preferred using two cabs as I struggle to hear myself clearly when you're practically standing on top of your amp!

I've been lucky enough to play one of these - would love another chance!
7. Of any single cab I've owned (and I've had lots) the most impressed I've been is with the EA CLX112. Relatively light weight, LOUD and deep but not woolly. Great stand alone cab but to use two of them you did need an amp that went down to 2Ohms. The Genx Neox 2x12 is a super cab, very light, and loud! Out off all the cabs I've owned they're the ones that do it for me.
8. My current Stingray (early 90s I think) is the 7th I've owned and without issue as were the rest, apart from the '79 pictured. On the whole the quality has been superb. I really hope the OP gets something sorted. It would be pretty bad form (and publicity) for EB to ignore.
9.
A simple case of the bridge being in the wrong place again.
Indeed!
10. I had one with a similar problem, the G string being VERY close to the edge of the fingerboard thus constantly slipping off! Right pain in the rear end. Hope you get it sorted.
11.
The winter before last was a ridiculously cold one, and I was busking outside regularly with a carved bass. I didn't have a thermometer, but it was a good few degrees below zero most of the time as there was much ice underfoot. I had no problems at all with the bass, but it's really hard to keep your hands working. The left hand is the worst as it's raised up most of the time and doesn't get much blood circulation. I was wearing two pair of socks, army boots, longjohns, several jumpers, a big coat, scarf, hat and fingerless gloves but still couldn't keep my hands warm enough! I was careful about slowing down the changes between warm and cold by leaving the bass in its bag for a while as suggested above. In an ideal world I'd have a second bass for this sort of playing, but I don't have the space to keep one.
I just got Raynaud's reading that!
12. Two very different sounding basses. Out of the two I'd say the Warwick would cut through better with them mids than a standard Stingray 4. Both of mine being great basses but chalk 'n cheese!
13. Try and hold out for a decent secondhand SS1 or the bolt on LX which IMO is a better slapper if thats your thing. The older LX's with the wenge necks being very nice and easy to play as they have a slim and comfortable neck very much like the vintage Streamers.
14. Ovi is a great guy to deal with, absolutely no worries there! Great communications, smooth transaction and Bass arrived safely. Top man!
15.
Well, it will sure look nice sat next to my 1983 Pink Triangle turntable, it looks like it came from this era.
Reminded me of an old Denon hifi amp I used to own!
16. I think its fair for me to say that amp/bass demos sound the bloody same! Clickity click stuff played as fast as possible. Granted I listened to that through lap top speakers but the demos I've listened to through the hifi still sound the same. That could have been a number of active basses been played through any modern amp. I'd like to hear a potential future purchase played properly alongside a live drummer for example. I'm sure you'd get a better idea of what the amp is all about. For me it was just another tiresome slap demo. (ok there was a bit of finger playing but you know what I'm getting at). Also, is there going to be a gig bag available for it and is it rack mountable?
17. I've owned one of the big 6x10 Genz cabs and a Neox 2x12. The Focus cabs IMO offer the same build quality. They really are very good. The price if the 1x12 is just silly and I'd love to try one after owning GS112's and EA CXL1x12's in the past. I've yet to hear a better 12" cab than the EA but these are not made anymore? My Focus 15" is superb as a stand alone cab. Compact and light weight. Its nothing like a typical 15" cab you'd expect. Its lively, bright, articulate and obviously has great depth but not wolley and vague. I can only imagine the 12" cabs being the same.
18.
It is Bubinga I believe Delivery can be arranged if need be Its not letting me upload pictures at the moment but i can email if you would like some Lewis
Try hosting with photobucket or something like that. Good price too! Doubt you'll have much trouble selling it.
19. These Focus cabs are just great. Dont think for any second that they are 'budget' in any way. They may be cheaper than a lot of the top stuff but thats the only difference! Agree about the handle though
20. These are VERY good cabs. And even for non Neo cabs their not too heavy. The sound is 'neutral' with maybe a little on the mids. They cut through lovely. I've owned quite a few of the 'top' brands including Genz Neox, Eden, EA, EBS, Aguilar etc. and these are pretty much up there with them. The whole range of the Focus cabs is superb. My 1x15 is a great stand alone cab being light weight, compact and sounds nothing like the 15" cabs of yesteryear. It sounds bright, punchy and articulate even without the tweeter on. Build quality is excellent, certainly comparable to my old Neox 2x12 and every other quality cab I've owned. Brand new prices are great value for money, second hand prices are a gift!
