Another vote for Transcribe. I use Audacity for quick editing and converting but for playback learning, this is great.

Back up for sale. If you're interested, and insist on paying a deposit so I will hold it for you for a month, and then decide you don't want it after all and want your deposit back...well..... Price lowered to £1,500. It's one of those basses you swear you'll never sell but.... This is a 2016 Ernie Ball Music Man Sterling 5 HH, which is rare enough, but this is the Starry Night Premier Dealer Network special edition. It's very difficult to photograph with the deep sparkle finish and the roasted neck but I've had a go! specs are below. There is a piece of clear plastic protective film on the back that I've never taken off. Weight is 9.7lbs, 4.4lbs Condition is 9.8/10. there's a tiny dent on the back but I can't photograph it. I'm checking it over again and I'll post more if I find anything I won't courier it but I'm prepared to drive around a bit to meet up. Comes with the original case in excellent condition. I'm not interested in any trades. Price is firm as I'm in no desperate need to sell. thanks Steve Series: Premier Dealer Network (PDN) Body Material: Ash Body Finish High gloss polyester Body Shape: Sterling Neck Wood Select roasted maple neck Neck Finish Gunstock oil and hand-rubbed special wax blend Scale Length 34" (86.4 cm) Fingerboard: Ebony, no markers Fingerboard Radius: 11" (27.9 cm) Number of Frets: 22 Fret size: High profile, wide Nut Width 1-3/4" (44.5 mm) Truss Rod Adjustable - no component or string removal Neck Attachment 5 bolts - perfect alignment with no shifting; Sculpted neck joint allows smooth access to higher frets Bridge Pickup: Humbucking with ceramic magnets Neck Pickup: Humbucking with ceramic magnets Controls: Dual Pickup - 5-way lever pickup selector, 3-band active preamp; vol, treble, mid, bass; Dual Pickup, 3-band active preamp; vol, treble, mid, bass Pickup Configuration: Dual Humbucker Bridge: Standard - Music Man chrome plated, hardened steel bridge plate with stainless steel saddles Tuning Machines Schaller BM, with tapered string posts

Yes it can easily manage without the cab. I've a ABM 600 and a Barefaced Supertwin too and sometimes I take the Rumble 500 instead
-
When I need an amp that's quick to set up, easy to transport and I can be sure of the sound i want I grab my Rumble. It just works. If it's cheap enough it's worth it even as a back up if nothing else.
-
I agree - I have the two bass version of this and it's brilliant.
-
Ive got three combos, a Rumble 500, a TC 250 115 and a Markbass CMD121P. On it's own for sound quality and portability I'd turn to the Markbass, but for gigging i choose the Rumble everytime. In a gig situation it just works.

A new razor blade (a proper one, not a Gillette Fusion Mach 3 Turbo GTI superlube) held flat to the surface does the trick. then a bit of polish. Wrap the unused edge in cardboard first!
-
Did the other guy know your cab had a cover with it? It's probably still at the venue surely?
-
I'm sure it'll be fine with a bit of EQing, as long as you can manage aesthetically! Has the 151 got the tweeter and L pad like the 121? I bypassed the tweeter in the combo due to the excessive hiss and rely on the one in the 121 when I need to.

What's the improvement in the EVO IV cabs over the other ABM cabs Lozz?
-
That was the point I was sort of getting at - seems like pretty good value for money assuming you have the space and the muscle power!
-
Yeah I guess so - I used to cart around an Ampeg 610 and before that a couple of MAG 115s. we're spoiled nowawdays. They still make them though so maybe they're used exclusively by bassists with roadies.....
-
Hmmm, I'm thinking that weight is a concern here. Maybe the cost differential is justified!

In the studio today and there's always been an Evo III 410 combo stuck in the corner. I decided to give it a go this once and it was great! I have a ABM Evo IV head already as a back up but I thought about checking eBay for Ashdown cabs and they're stupid cheap; I mean you can get 2 410s for £300 or so. That's less than one used Barefaced 410. Anyone have any thoughts on the cabs? As I say, I thought the ABM 410 was really really nice! Is it just that they're not fashionable at the moment or what ? steve

Marco used to make pretty amps, if you remember this....
-
And it just looks so damn ugly! How's the Kemper on effects? I know how good it is on amp modelling....
-
Duff patch lead or cable?
-
The Moogerfooger is good fun but there are so many parameters you can change that it's going to take a while to get used to. Now, that SVT 4 Pro..... I just gigged it tonight. It's absolutely awesome.
-
Anyone got a list of the new presets? To be fair I never use them but I still like to try them out. I did the restore to reload in the presets but I can't work out for the life of me which ones are new - the lists look exactly the same......
-
I always use Hiscox cases and swear by them but I have a new Fender guitar in one of the deluxe/elite cases and they are rather nice!
-
The Moogerfooger with bass voicing isn't too bad either. Plenty of patterns...
-
Yep, and a Scrambler and. SVT 4PRO that sounds better than the real thing (to me anyway, having had one!) Few nice new touches in the HX Edit too And, with Ampeg now being part of the Yamaha family, all the Ampeg amps and pedals retain their proper names..
-
So, 2.8 is now out, guys! This is a pretty big update so I'd advise reading the release notes and perform the install as it it says (I.e back up, upgrade HX Edit, update unit) https://line6.com/support/page/kb/effects-controllers/helix/helixhx-280-release-notes-r913/
