Here's the body... More pics as they arrive.
2. Any idea when the CDs themselves will be available?
3. Personal favourite album is Hejira. Some nice fretless playing going down there.
4. I'm currently trying to get the hang of Continuum.
5. Clearly 1960 was a very good year Mr Discreet. I'm in discussion with Mark about one of my own after a few wobbly moments in respect of the Betsy-a-like on the website. What was the spec on yours may I ask? What level of 'distress' does your lovely bass represent?
6. Very interesting thread. Spent last night googling pics of 2 x humbucker basses and it's amazing how many different position combos are out there. There seem to be much less variety in the 2 x single coil basses that I presume is down to a lot of Jazz-a-like basses.
7. Just to add that for the ACGs I've had from Alan all have been ready on, or before, the promised date.
8.
I don't know how you can manage that. I haven't shut up about mine and I only placed the order 2 weeks ago!
When I sold the ACG Graft to Cana.dan I muttered something about replacing it at some point, but not necessarily adding the words "...with an ACG Custom". Mrs ead has moved on to other things I do wrong now so all is well at ead towers and I can talk to the wild rabbit that got into the garden (apparently also my fault) about the bass. I think he's quite impressed but hard to tell for sure.
9.
Can't blame anyone for ACG gas. Only have my graft for 1 week and in already saving for a custom.
That's what I like to hear I have a new one on order myself although technically Mrs ead may not be aware of this fact...
10. Nik has just bought some strings from me. The easiest of transactions, Nik is a gent and a top banana. Deal with confidence.
11. I'm sure I saw it first
12. Hi there They are indeed the ML-5 set 45-128 gauges; probably should have made that clearer on the OP. I'll drop you a PM. Many thanks
13. Used to have one of the original P/J Spector Legends with the 3-band EQ. I thought it a nice bass and occasionally wonder where it is. Last seen on BC iirc.
14. According to Mrs ead I am always wrong, therefore my opinions should be ignored or ridiculed.

OK fellow ACG lovers, new bass commissioned to replace the departed Dirty Ash one on the left. The spec will be: Recurve 4 Custom spec Body: Native Ash top on Alder body - Minimum lacquer finish Neck: 3-piece Wenge (however you pronounce it) Board: Wenge, fretted (still don't know how to pronounce it) Pickups: 2 x RFB Electronics: ACG EQ03 5k Other bits: Detuner on E string, black hardware, luminlay position dots on the side, ACG custom bridge I did casually mention to Mrs ead that having sold a bass a replacement might be sought, but Mum's the word people
16. The other place to drop into would be the Manchester Bass Lounge as Drew has basses by Alpha, Everson, and more ACGs (coming soon I think) as well as more standard fare so a good place to play a lot of different basses. Loads of excellent advice here, specially about being sure what you want. I spent several months thinking carefully about what I wanted and spoke to two or three builders before settling on ACG (no regrets whatsoeverby the way, and have since been back for a few more of them). It's definitely important to have a good relationship and trust in your luthier of choice.
17.
First time I have been accused of having all my body shapes to Jazz like, normally I get asked to do something more traditional .
As a serial abuser of ACG J Type bodies I would observe that they are an excellent compromise between just making a Fender with a different logo and something too outlandish for the more conservative player. Plus they have excellent access to all 24 frets, are light and comfortable, and well balanced on the knee. In Graft spec they are also great value for money.
18. I'm in Lancs, so if you want to try my ACGs you are more than welcome to pop up.
19. Having a bit of a clear out and forgotten that I had acquired these for a 5er that I no longer own. As I'm sticking to 4s now not required any longer. They are brand new and still have the cellophane wrapping on. Here is the link to the website about them: http://www.deanmarkl...lix-hd-nps-bass Sold, many thanks.
20. Sold an ACG bass to cana.dan. Very easy transaction, plenty of PMs, everything as organised and a really nice person to boot. Highly recommended.

It's entirely possible there may be a very sad farewell and an addition to the family (which sort of grew by one when I wasn't watching)...
22. Is it still cool to hate Coldplay? I thought that ther might be another target for reviewers' opprobium by now.
