1. Yeah, sorry bassnut. I saw youd posted to bag it so I pmd phi.i. I was going to put it up prior but paubass had already got one up so held off. Best of luck finding one. They seem to be appearing a bit more regularly in the last coupla months. Sorry for causing any confusion.
2. Hi guys, I'll be getting hold of these two pedals in the next 5 days or so. In advance of actually receiving them, I wondered if anyone had done an A/B or had experience with both? I played the XXL a while back and really liked it. I went more fuzz at the time and have been so since. I'm after a nasty, heavy distortion, that retains low end of course. I'm not up for the Ashdown based on its size, and these are the two I've punted for at present. I'll no doubt feedback my personal findings, but wanted to throw it out there before I got hold of 'em. I know there's loads of distortion/overdrive/fuzz threads, I'm specifically looking for experiences with both of these. Cheers
3. Yeah, fair point about the angling in a tight environment. Grammar pad was probably to wrong suggestion, I meant just something to elevate the front end - i guess a brick would do the job! With a stand solution, will that result in any loss of bass reinforcemnt/poor coupling? Band eq'ing is a good idea, although I' still struggling with my guitarist, but when he clears out of my frequency area, its amazing what difference it makes.
4. You could of course just angle the cabs upwards as well, with a grammar pad or something equally innovative, at the front end of the cab so its not just blasting your ankles. Only conundrum this then deals is where to put the head, or fixing it to the cab. I like barefaced. Also +1 to the bergs, GKs, TC and Aguilar in the light weight department.
5. Wow! So how do the "Two front facing speakers and a center resonance side ported chamber containing two offset facing 15’s!" benefit the design? My understanding is they just face each other on the inside of the cab. Does that actually benefit anything? I guess it must somehow, but I dont understand. I would have expected a straight forward 415 arrangement to be more beneficial..... I do like the look of those effects boxes!! Very tasty!!
6. Done! You kids dont know you're born these days. When I did my dissertation, I had to print, lick, post, wait two weeks, then realise I had a 5% response rate! ha! Hope it goes well!!
7.
They better be awesome considering how long it's been!! Still i suppose it's better that they iron out any teething problems before we get our hands on them. I still find it unbelievable that several online stores will actually take your order and your hard earned cash when they have absolutely no idea when they can fulfill the order!!
I didnt think that was legal? My understanding was, unless something boutique or custom, the seller could only charge the card once the order was in the post to you, not prior. Something to do with postal rule and distance selling again. Sorry, not related to the Kilo and not meaning to derail, just querying now for my own peace of mind on such matters. I really need to try out a hartke as I've never had any experience with them. Closest I came was about 8 years ago or so when I was looking for an amp and the guy on Denmark street said "dont bother with them, they're crap. Try anything else other than them. Go over the road and see what they've got". I was younger and a hell of a lot less confident and knowledgable on gear (not that I know much now), so just dismissed them. I'm very disappointed now in hindsight.
8. It's fine powering 2 8ohm cabinets. Might be better options out there than the isobaric stuff, but I dont know what you're after, and plenty of people here love theirs! best of luck.
This is prob a stupid question but im fairly new to the technical aspects of cabs and amps. Would a bass terror 500 have any problem powering 2 x SP212's? I want to make a mini stack and want to make sure i can optimise the cabs for big venues. Thanks
9. I do exactly that in my current band, depending on venue and line up etc. In particular theres one pub where an eclectic mix of bands is always put on, but the 'regulars' take it upon themselves to do things like cut the power on walk 'onstage' and make it thier business to tell you what you should be playing Since a few incidents at that specific venue, we've played a 50/50 mix of covers and originals which seems to work well as we get to play our own stuff, but mix it up with some catchy numbers that people recognise, but carefully chosen so it all sits in similar vein/genre. Other places we'll just do original sets or throw in only one cover or something. Probably a bit of a negative reason for going that route to be honest, but its fun. Its also good introducing your own songs along the lines of "here's another well known classic for you all! Sing along of you know the words!" followed by silence and blank looks around the pub! ha!
10. Looks like no-ones prepared to help it stop. Guess you better buy one!!

12. Thanks for the heads up, ill ask about that on tuesday then. Also been looking at alternative cndle treatment that might be fun. Guess i didnt need to buy the ear plugs, could habe justeft them as they were! Ha! Should be good hearing what the world sounds like again though!
13.
^ This..... The SVTIIIPro has no lack of power if used correctly...
+1!! Yup, indeed this! Been a long time since I had it and forgot whch way round!!
14. Try cranking the gain full then adding volume to taste. Thats the way i used to run mine. A lot more enjoyable...dependig on what yoire going for, but gives you full ampeg flavour!
15. So i ordered my er-20s through mp3 company online, went to get impressions done but my ears were too blocked! Got them syringed, and asked the nurse if ok for imprezsions to be taken, and got a resounding 'yes!' . Back to the audiologist, and theyre too blocked again! 65%! Going for another syringe but now im nervous they wont as you can see my eardrum and theres increased risk of perferation! Anyone else had this problem? Got som 20s to tide me over, and may not even get a full refund cause of the audiologist appointments that lasted all of 90 seconds! Aaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!
16. I was trying to weigh this one up as well a while back. I settled on the 500 as it is bloody loud and i find it cuts through well. I was tempted just to go with the thousand cause its only a bit more cash in the scheme of things, but in the end i couldnt work out how 900w at 8ohms would be useful with my cabs, or any 8ohm cab. Yes, you can control the volume knob but its a pretty steep increase on the terror to full power. Also for only a 3db increase, i thought the 500 a much better proposition. Easily managed 200-250 packed venues with this and 2 cabs playing rock covers.
17. Good point. However isnt it the man in the car (manufacturers) that has to adjust to the hike and either pays through the nose or adjusts his life and has to drive less?
I've heard that Shell has cancelled petrol because the price of oil has gone up.
18. Ha! No way man!! All kudos to you on this one, I wouldnt have thought to post otherwise!
I feel a bit of a disgrace now, therefore, salt on your bass deserves all the kudos
Yeah, does this affect all manufacturers/brands then? I guess it will if eminence are effected......??
19. For those of you who dont recieve that, here's what mark said: Cost of Neodymium This week the cost of Neodymium sky rocketed by 100% - this is due to the Chinese, who are the sole producer of Neodymium at present having a huge tax imposed on mining by the government in China. This may have serious repercussions across the MI industry with large increases in Neodymium loaded cabinets inevitable. We shall see how this plays out over the next few weeks and months, but Eminence, who are one of the largest speaker producing companies in the world, shelving many Neodymium speakers projects and the possibility of ceasing try to sell Neodymium design speakers. It is because of this situation that Bergantino Audio have taken the decision to withdrawn the whole AE range of cabinets with immediate effect. Once the current stocks of AE speakers and cabinets have gone there will be no more for the foreseeable future. I would suggest that if you are considering purchasing one of these class leading cabinets then do so a soon as you can. However there will be new Ceramic loaded cabinets coming soon - watch this space!
20. Yeah no worries. Reckon its a few weeks offbut ill updaye as soon as ive tried and or purchased.
21. I think that should be fine as the cbs are in paralell and its still a 4okm load, i dont see what difference it makes. For info i accidentally ran mine on a 4ohm load at 8 ohm setting for over an hour a while back and it was fine.
22. hmmm, something similar to the GK MB200 perhaps? I like the Ashdown Mag and ABM stuff and the Little bastard, but they've lost me on the whole micro front since the superfly and LG series and I never experienced suitable support from them. Therefore I'm sceptical unfortunately, but it'll be interesting when it comes to fruition and hits the stores though, it always is. This is far too pre-empted, but I dont feel the initial sales video oozes any sort of quality......maybe my preconceptions influencing things too much though! I'll stick with my Orange and Genz thanks, not goign to have my head turned by ashdown on this end of the market in the near future, but hope to be proved wrong of course!
23. A friendly Bump cause I'm the confused would be buyer that cant use the interweb Good guy to deal with!
24. I dont know anyone that took the dive with one of these. I believe they're essentially same design as the Ibanez Promethean though, only at a more competitive price point, without the brand.....
25. I still think the GK and Orange are a great bank for the buck, reliable and more affordable than a lot of the competition out there. Both the orange TB and GK MB500 can be had for £419. They are great heads from reliable manufacturers. Second hand and more comes into play. I dont agree that a minimum of £6-700 is neccessary to go for a decent micro. Definitely play them though before deciding. I thought I'd be going in for a TC, and walked out with a terror bass, after a toss up with the MB500.
