1. Any of the Little Mark heads are worth a try too - especially as they can be picked up used for around £300. Massive bargain and loads of tone control. Rich and clean sounding (IMO). "Grit" can always be added externally...
 2.
Pretty much anything gets heavy if you walk far enough carrying it.
Our work here is done.
 3.
I don't see why being 'less able' should preclude anyone from doing gigs.
I'm assuming he meant "less able-bodied" - but maybe not...
 4.
They've also been happy mediums, with ceramic drivers :-)
Touche! Although I'm not sure I'd describe the S112s (at 10kg each) any kind of "medium"
 5.
I prefer the happy medium - Walkabout / AG500. Car radio amps just don't float me boat.
Ah, but your last few cabs have been pretty low-mass! To me that's the easy part of the "compromise". A heavy amp is still pretty light compared to a heavy cab And I would have agreed with you on the amps until I tried the LM2... It sounds a lot "bigger" than it is somehow.
 6. Life is all about compromise. A small reduction in tone (completely unnoticeable by everyone but yourself) versus a massive reduction in effort and backache. If you're young and can afford it (and roadies) - go heavyweight. If not, for most gigging bassists Lightweight is a no-brainer.
 7.
I could really fancy this myself..! I had so much fun with the tweeterless version I had for a while.
I thought that one had a tweeter?
 8. Damn - just when I thought temptation had been removed!
 9. Is that the really expensive one? The S2126 I mean...
 10.
The 6" Speaker is adjustable from the Side (wich I like) and on the Backside
Nice cab! And it's always useful to have an adjustable backside
 11. No need to remove it - leaving the locked threads up is really useful to people researching price and availability before either buying or selling!
 12. Stop it!
 13. PM incoming...
 14. Uh oh... Neck DOB May 2 1966. My DOB May 3 1966. Can't get much closer to a DOB bass than that! Gorgeous...
 15.
All that does is confirm to me that most boutique Fender style basses are ludicrously overpriced.
Well, yes - there is that!
 16.
This. they're just the latest flavour of the month on here. 12 months time the marketplace will be full of them while people all rush to get the next best thing ever.
Yes, there is a lot of history of this type of thing on here... but unless you've tried one of these basses you wouldn't understand what the "hype" is about. I borrowed WoT's PJ for a while and used it in a band situation as well as plenty of home noodling. It is a fantastic bass and I would have bought it like a shot - but the pickup placing and colours weren't quite right for me, and I can get one made to my own preferences for only a couple of hundred quid more! It's a total no-brainer! People who own and play Fenders (right up to and including Custom Shop models), Seis, Sadowskys and other top-quality "boutique" basses are raving about the quality of the Maruszczyk range, and marvelling at the prices. Of course, it's helped by a very favourable Sterling-Euro conversion rate, but still - the quality of a boutique handmade bass for the price of a MIM Fender?? Crazy.
 17.
I feel reluctant to let my BB2 go...
Well, I'll be passing through Edinburgh in about ten days time if you change your mind...
 18.
Damn, the LM3 sounds sweet through a pair of these S112s! It seems that the LM3 is better suited to the S112 than the Streamliner was. It even seems louder somehow!
My LM2 is certainly very "rich" in its midrange - and it would seem that mids are what the S112s specialise in. I guess they just work well together
 19.
Jamaican music is a very important part of 1960s UK youth culture and it is seen by many as in total opposition to rock. Skinhead versus hippy.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0Bjl2x1ZMw
 20.

I have seen the future... BTW Jose, how have you connected the cabs to get a total load of 8 ohms? I would have thought it would have been 2?!
 21. Edward just bought a pair of Bergantino cabs from me. He put up with a lot of my dithering, whilst maintaining excellent communications. Cash on delivery and a mutually convenient meet-up in York. An excellent deal with a top bloke - highly recommended
 22. Not that he needs it, but some more positive feedback for Jose. Just bought his Barefaced Compact (after some very complex three-way communications and a number of other possibilities!). Cab exactly as described, at a very fair price, and delivered very locally to me. Excellent deal, great comms and highly recommended
 23.
Four of these are still a very compact solution,
Especially if stacked vertically
 24. Typical. I buy a BF Compact (with a view to possibly getting a second one) and then this comes up!
