1.
That's interesting. I've not seen one of those before. Is it 2 x 12? How tall is it? Cheers

2 x 15 by the looks?
I can't remember the exact measurements, but yes it is a 2x15 and is "quite tall" Taller than a 4x10, but not as tall as two... http://basschat.co.u...efaced-vintage/ 24" apparently They were made for Barefaced users who also used valve amps, but as it turned out very few people actually used valve heads with them (I know I didn't!) so they were discontinued and/or morphed into the Super Fifteen, which is not as wide... Outstanding cabs - and very light (a 2x15 that is a manageable one handed lift?!?!). I only sold mine because I wasn't gigging very often and it was a bit wide and awkward for simply moving in and out of the house and the twisty stairs at the rehearsal room... I'd have it back in a second! They do occasionally come up for sale on here (http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry2362329) but there aren't that many about and most people who own them, love them!
 2. Try to track down a used Barefaced Vintage? http://basschat.co.uk/topic/191022-used-a-barefaced-vintage-last-night/
 3. Herbie Flowers? My ears tell me that on the early Tom Petty stuff, Ron Blair probably used flats on his Jazz too... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DO2-4YAV8sM
 4.
Talented guy, but not relevant to me. I'm restricted to the greats from my generation. McCartney Joco, Prestia, Graham, Chuck Rainy, Weeks etc.. Blue
He's a bass player. You're a bass player. In what way is he not relevant? All of us can learn something from anyone else. Open your ears and open your mind dude!
 5.
Buy through the Basschat market place from a seller with a good feedback history and you'll not go wrong.
Exactly! And even if you don't quite bond with the bass you can usually sell it again for what you paid. It's almost like a library!
 6.
Great quote, although I believe that was JJ Burnell... I remember the original interview. He may have nicked it from Dee Dee, though.
OT.... but I just thought it was really cool that KK was quoting JJ and Dee Dee.... Oh and by the way, The Geddy Lee sig is still just about the best J bass I have played and/or owned. I have owned two of them and in both cases regretted having to sell them. I will get another when finances allow. The neck just suits me perfectly
 7. Blleeeaaarrrggghhhh! One of the youtube comments hit the nit on the head: "Sounds like a bagpipe raping a cat". Obviously not a Scot, otherwise he would have know that that the singular term "bagpipe" is incorrect...
 8. I have a Markbass LM2. I certainly wouldn't describe it as sterile - so it's not a feature of the whole range, but maybe just the F500.
 9.
wow what a coincidence all your surnames match your instruments, how apt
Our paths in life were pre-ordained. Why fight it?
 10.
Good song. Somebody shoot (or cut one foot off) the drummer.
Fair point - he does overplay a bit.... but then again it is a prog rock/metal band!
 11.
One10 cabs..... A big increase in heft and bottom.
Who'd a thunk it?!?!?
 12.
.... 18" or 21" etc.
13.
Very cool, very professional, impressive. Usually I don't comment on clips because I don't have anything positive to say. Thus was very enjoyable. Blue
Praise indeed! Thanks a lot man
 14.
lots of guys are using a GKmb500, which gets really good reviews on line - any thoughts on this?
Just be careful if, like me, you have big fat fingers! I found it very frustrating to use the GK MB800 (big brother to the 500) as the controls are very close together and easily knocked while trying to adjust an adjacent one. In the end it got so annoying I sold it, although I quite liked the tone from the amp through my Barefaced cab...
 15. This is great... And I always loved the bass part to this song... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbxyH8WjWw0
 16.
The phrase "clutching at straws" comes to mind.
I thought that was Marillion? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFQwkm_xbF0
 17. Typical bedroom player. That animal needs to get out and gig more - and do it for a living. Not because it has to, but because it chooses to. I've been doing this for 65 years and I know what I'm talking about. The Beetles are great - but a bit crunchy... Blah, blah, etc, etc.... snore.
 18.
My bass amp (Acoustic Image) has reverb
Oh! That's the first time I've heard of it on a bass amp
 19.
Coolio! I shall watch this later...
Not while eating your dinner...
 20.
Has to be a good band if they let the bass player say more than two words.
Ha ha! Yes, I usually have plenty to say
 21.
That is very cool! Congratulations.
Cheers! I'd love to say that since it aired, we have been deluged with offers of gigs, recording contracts and requests for personal appearances.... but I'd be lying if I did Still - it was an interesting experience. It is always weird to watch yourself on video...
 22.
I had a number of lessons with Jodie a few years ago, amazing player and a thoroughly decent bloke to boot. Not sure about now, but he used to teach here...http://academyofmusic.ac.uk/courses/scotland-only/
Cool! Was he playing with a particular band then? I'm not sure how long he's been with Skerryvore...
 23.
Aaaah, OK. I lived in the North East for many years and the room looked familiar...just couldn't place it. Thought it might have been somewhere I knew.
It is the old drawing office, upstairs in the old Morley Coachworks building in Byker, if that helps!
 24.
Where was it shot ?
In our rehearsal room. When I say "our" I mean we pay for the use of it every wednesday, not that we own it or anything...
