  1. Hi , would you be willing to sell the PB X-N separately? I've got a set of the JBX-Ns and there are excellent btw Cheers
  2. I've got one of these it dates back to 1979 & I've had it since 1983 ( I think). Great big solid bass & good looking - I prefer it without the stripe. I've got a letter from Gigsville from way back providing some info on it as it doesnt have any identifying numbers ( apart from serial no). Apparently there was a supply /demand issue and only a few were imported to the uk.
  3. I don't think I've seen this posted on BC as yet- her's one of our favourite lady bass players pulling some different faces.Go girl!
  4. I wouldn't worry about the Fender v Squier decal - you need to get the shorts sorted.
  5. I got mine from Rothko & Frost - https://www.rothkoandfrost.com/ The decals are pretty delicate to apply ,and I managed to make a bit of a mess of the serial number, but I do like them - good luck . Rothko & Frost were very helpful in providing advice - I also got the neck tint sprays from them & they helped me out ( again) when I made a bit of an derrière at my first attempt at spraying - I went a bit heavy handed & had to do a bit of a rub down. Cheers
  6. They've been mentioned a few times previously , but I don't think I'd ever want an acoustic/electro- acoustic bass again. I kinda like the idea but just can't be bothered with them.
  7. Maybe bit of an Anthony Bourdain vibe going on?
  8. Good thread - very interesting, I must say. I'm more than happy with my JVP
  9. Excellent replies , thanks folksGreat pic Neepheid Broad Bass it is then .. not " Sure & Steadfast"...
  10. Simple question - What does the BB stand for?
  11. Saturday night in a bar in Stirling , normally it's a pretty good night and it was to a certain extent. Our guitarist thought it was awesome , singer/guitarist got pissed off when someone got a bit over enthusiastic , fell into him, knocking over mic stand & bashing mic into his teeth. Sometimes chairs are placed to separate the band from the " crowd" to avoid that kind of thing I was in the far corner and had plenty of space , close to the bar. However, I found myself getting annoyed that people standing at that end of the bar , about 3-4 feet away stood with their backs to me the whole night.. diva moment perhaps? I just kept thinking how rude they were & that if the weren't intersted in watching the band or me busting my move(s) .. they should've occupied another area of the bar. I'm actually surprised how much it got to me tbh. Of course once we'd finished a couple of the guys were complimenting us " Best flipin' band in Scotland pal!" etc & asked if we needed any help with our gear .
  12. Hope you kept the hat though! I took it to a gig on Saturday but ended up not using it as the output was very low - I'll try it out a few more times & see if some fiddling about is needed.
  13. 86%... 13 out of 15.. this included some guesswork. .although it's would've been hard not to get Lemmy or John Entwistle etc.
  14. I'm no expert but it looks manky... maybe need a clean up and a new set of strings How long has it been in the shed, I wonder? I can't really see the machine heads or logo on the headstock from the grainy pics.
  15. Thank you I did phone Yamaha Uk in Milton Keynes , they took a note and said they'd me back as the person was busy
  16. Fender Precision Lyte (?) I Had one a while back but it was,eh, a bit too Lyte for me. It weighed next to nothing if I recall
  17. @kodiakblair something you'd be interested in?
  18. Indeed - the traffic warden was standing at my car when the seller spotted him from his flat window - I made a mad dash , jumping over a couple of alkies on the stairs , and arrived flustered, out of breath & carrying a bass & a stand. Me " Are you going to give me a ticket?" TW" How long have you been parked here?" Me " Not long - I was just picking up this stuff from the guy hanging out that window" TW " You're allowed 5 minutes for loading" Me " Oh,It was definitely less than 5, honest" TW" Ok then , no problem.." Anyway, I've posted in Bass Guitars with some pictures if anyone wants to see what it looks like -
  19. Thanks for that.. I was surprised that it was about for a while. The seller said he'd originally advertised for £180 and got fed up with being offered £60! Here's another couple of pics.. I've had a brainwave I'm going try and contact Yamaha to ask if they can provide any more info
  20. This one's black. I had a go on it tonight at band practice and liked it a lot , it felt right if that makes sense. Here's some pics..
  21. Update ... The owner of the rehearsal rooms we use does a bit of repair work and offered to have a look. Apparently there was a dodgy /eroded fuse, now replaced, and and seems to have sorted things out. It cost me £10 though!
