1.
Yea i agree it's not limited but the sunburst has been discontinued. God knows why cos it looks awesome!!
Perhaps cheaper to finish it in solid/semi-transparent finishes than burstes but nothing to say they won't bring them back in some sort of "Ltd Ed" form. I have this bass myself ( i call it the "Slash" bass )and is truly incredible concerning it's so underrated and barely known about in the bass world. The sustain lasts forever and versatile a lot like the 6 string line BUT as far as I know, this finish or any LP haven't been a limited edition unless can be confirmed by a certificate normally supplied with the instrument. http://los-angeles-guitar-shop.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/2010GibsonES335028.jpg Not to take the shine off this bass or sale, they have always been "Standard Les Paul Bass" but if you can prove otherwise, expect more than £900! All the best with your sale, BSB
2.
Now what this makes me think is the gold Casady ought to have the black pickup and pickguard.
+1
3. I recall when this bass was as little as £650, not so long ago. I thought the jump to £850-900 was outrageous and now I couldn't care less for the bass despite Mr Miller being a BIG influence to me. One shall only dream of owning this one
4. Wrong part of the forum and you've double posted.
5. So is the 5'er only in black/maple? :-/
6. Sweeeeet! Am so getting one :'D
7. maybe they have changed it or atleast with the studio models??? i think that guitar would be a good, yet, expensive introduction to baritone guitars if you havent had a guitar yet. BSB
8. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KHUb-V3HUzM Good sample of what Gibson came up with last year. For me, check out buckethead, he plays a custom les Paul which is a 28" scale, instead of a 25.5 or 30". Sounds immense. James Hetfield has used one too But I think, notoriously, mike mushok from staind has used many baritone guitars as well as signature models. I've owned a gretsch baritone, hefty piece of kit but tone and feel to it was awesome, like mentioned. . . Use a capo and you have a guitar or naturally play bass lines on it.
9. I LIKE IT! i know it resembles basses or particular parts of others but this is quite unique and i have GAS with Lakeland's as it is . just a shame you can't justify the prices these days, as to how i remember they cost BSB
10. weird bet they feel nice to play and light enough for the guys on here with back issues and problems with heavy basses. one thing i want to know is . . . with not having much of a body, would this affect the tone as compared to a full size bass with exact same hardware? BSB
11.
Just not sure about those older bridges man. These look great though, apart from that.
Surely, that is a Gibson though?! 0_o I've tried looking elsewhere for these and can't find an accurate picture :-/ Id personally see how they are like before I buy another Epi and Mod it. The bridges do need an upgrade to the hipshots
12. Pretty hard basses to get your hands on these days, especially coming from a production line from Fender you'd think there would be a few. Killer bass is all I can comment
13. Never owned or played one but in my opinion, all musicman basses are worth it (or at least as of today's date) They look very neutral for a 6 string bass without looking too "metal" and a variable tone to follow, I think this is an ideal 6 string along with the Yamaha lines. Hope all goes well
14. I'll start the bid at £1
15. Hahaha nice try ;P down weekend after next to see my ma', if it's still around I'll try and come around. Could try and meet up at Dawson's, Liverpool if that's cool with you?
16. I MAY purchase this, could be a tad out of my range at the mo'
17. If I didn't have one already, I'd soon pound on this. Beautiful bass and a bargain indeed! Have a bump from me too BSB
18. Offers? Gets withdrawn tonight
19. Everyone has to start somewhere, don't feel pressured that you have to play anything good, your not there to show off your skills and you could always ask for headphones
20.
At least you'll be able to re-sell a 'name' brand for more money if you don't like it.
That's the idea
21. Price is too high for me, super nice bass and an alright condition. Have a BUMP!
