  1. Bump with weight info: 3.6kg so nice and lightweight for a 5
  2. Back for sale bump. Deal could be done with this and the ACG Finn as a pair if anyone’s interested.
  3. That is gorgeous! GLWTS
  4. 16/3/25 - WITHDRAWN I am in the process of having a new ACG 5 string being built, and when that arrives in 2025 I’ll need at least one, if not both my existing 5 strings to make way. Therefore both this and my gorgeous Zoot Funkmeister are up for sale. Ultimately I’m not 100% sure which bass I want to sell but I am sure at least one has to go. So I will let the market decide. If the Zoot goes first, this stays, or if this goes first, the Zoot stays. Or if someone wants a deal on both, we can sort something out! This was commissioned in 2018 and arrived in 2019, on the back of learning a lot from a previous Finn 5 and Finn 4 commission, and was designed to be a clean hi fi bass for a function band. It absolutely nails that brief, and the neck profile along with the smooth satin-esque polymer oil finish is a delight. It’s lightweight and easy to play and has led me to finally cave and create my “ultimate” RetoB 5 spec with a holly top. Specs: 5 string, 32” scale 2-piece swamp ash body 5-piece maple/bubinga neck Acrylic impregnated maple board 4+1 headstock with maple veneer ACG FB pickups East Uni Pre 4K circuit with passive tone Hipshot A-type bridge with 16.5mm string spacing 45mm nut Gotoh resolite tuners Neutrik locking jack Schaller strap locks 3.6kg https://acguitars.co.uk/project/0343finn5/ It’s been cosseted its whole life, so is in pretty close to perfect nick. It does have a couple of natural imperfections in the woods which I mention for full disclosure, but they are natural rather than caused by me being a clumsy oaf. There is a small nick in the top of the bridge pickup cover too, which has been there since birth and in no way affects anything. I presume it was just a slightly dodgy moulding of the plastic case. No gig bag included at this price coz it’s a bargain. Collection only, or could arrange a convenient place to meet within around 45-60 mins max from me. Bank transfer upon meeting is preferred method of payment. No trades for the reasons explained above.
  5. 😄 Giving myself 8 hours to do the trip up, just in case 🤣
  6. Looking forward to it! Shameless plug, a few tickets still available here: Katy Hurt Sheffield
  7. 16th Nov for me in that London. 30 years eh. Madness.
  8. Would the East MM preamps fit? https://www.east-uk.com/product-category/mm-style/?v=79cba1185463
  9. This is Super 12, the predecessor to the “Gen 3” Super Twin. Great cabs, glwts!
  10. Yep he’d be on my list if he didn’t have a full order book! We almost did a 32” 4 string P two years ago, but it ended up being a 5 string J shape with single P pickup 😅
  11. Have tried to avoid buying anything this year but failed dismally with the full abstinence… For me, hands down the best purchase was the Handbox WB100 I picked up in the summer. Worst… some strings which have ended up all ha ing a dead E. Gave up my experimentation and moved straight back to Newtone.
  12. Shit. Blown tyre halfway to Wolverhampton. Tyre repair kits are f***ing useless. 4 hours from phoning roadside assistance to having the tyre fitted. Missed the gig entirely. Thankfully we had someone who knew the set at the gig who could stand in. Missed this:
  13. One day you need to own an ACG. They are the dog’s danglies
  14. Wow, that is a spec and a half! Bargain for the options you’ve got, and frankly ACGs are the best playing basses I’ve ever had. GLWTS!
  15. Gorgeous bass, top notch fella
  16. Looks cool but it’s worrying when the spec at the bottom of the page has no bearing on the amp. 3 band BMT EQ….?? 😅
  17. I concur. I currently have 3, and will have a 4th arriving in 2025 because I’m a massive tart GLWTS @essexbasscat this is a lovely bass!
  18. How’s yer back? 😆 Bet that sounds phenomenal - nice find!
  19. Maybe he’s time travelling 😃
  20. Oooh I bet this is a stonkingly good little combo!
  21. Gorgeous bass; terribly sad circumstances. All the best for a quick sale x
  22. Having two amps was a godsend at the weekend (see “How Was Your Gig Last Night” thread if you care that much, it’s not that interesting!) though I must confess my two basses were wildly different so it could have been fun - 4 string fretted and 5 string fretless…. But I bet 80-90% of the audience wouldn’t notice…
  23. 20 years ago I was playing a gig when the strap button failed on my bass. That was embarrassing enough because, without a spare, I had to stand awkwardly to play the remaining 2 songs. Guess what I did in the first chorus of the first song? Broke a string. Never again. PS: I did forget a strap once since then though, that was quite special of me.
  24. I’d be inclined to drive to Epsom to get this if you’re in Sussex!
