1. Bump, sensible offers will be considered
2. FS: the last ever "real" Status Groove Built by Rob Green around 2002 out of spare bits left from production which had finished a few years previously. This is a lined fretless, maple neck, alder body and probably a rosewood board. Active/passive switch, volume and bass and treble controls. Trimax pickup which is essentially 3 Js together, the outer two acting as the PUp and the inner a reverse-wired coil to cancel him. The most powerful pickup I've ever used I think! Midnight Wine finish, black pickguard Absolutely immaculate condition save for a bit of string wear on the board. Supplied with either a gig bag or a Hiscox liteflight case, depending on which of this and the Shark goes first and what each buyer wants. Price includes the gigbag, add £45 for the Hiscox. Shipping is extra. £375.00 to reflect its condition, place in Status history and sentimental value to me. Photos to follow ASAP!
3. It's pristine, the last ever "real" Groove (with a wooden neck as opposed to the 3 they made afterwards with modded graphite necks), and is utterly utterly glorious. I always said I'd never sell it but, well, the lure of a custom ACG has just been too much to withstand! So, how do you want to pay....?
4. Sadly for you I'm selling to find my ACG gas again. Strictly speaking not out of the woods with the solicitors (which were why I sold the last ACG) but frankly I have an itch which needs to be scratched NOW... Bollocks to the consequences haha
5. Yeah I sold it then it came back and now I'm selling again! Groove fretless will appear later this eve too...
6. Absolutely cracking bass, and a steal at that price. GLWTS
7. No prob, any time! (Assuming I'm not gigging myself, haha!)
8. Free bump for a great bass and a thoroughly nice bloke
9. I could happily use one and get the right volume and tone for the gig. Dave, you're not too far from me, if you want to borrow one of mine for a gig you're very welcome! Drop me a PM
10.
Just agreed to buy your old Graft Recurve 5 last night or I'd be interested in this myself! Can't speak for the 4 string versions, but the 33" scale 5 string is LOVELY! This would be a bargain at twice the price!
Ooh lovely! Enjoy, she was a cracker of a bass too
11. Gorgeous bass, cracking price, these Finns are brilliant GLWTS
12.
yep this is your old one. I was so impressed I ordered a J to my spec and finish preferences. Having a hard time waiting but it will be worth it. I was hoping to keep this and the new one but its not working out that way and im moving towards being a one bass man. travelling light is what im wantin and if I have two I will take two everywhere. Keep well. The acg you want is one day closer each morning dude . . . .
Cheers dude, I like your thinking
13. I recognise that 33" Graft Recurve! Cracking bass One day I will commission a new special Finn5, specs all sorted in my head but funds sadly don't come so easily right now
14. Cracking amp, insane price! Buy it now someone
15. Chris is the best air guitarist I've met today, and also a thoroughly bloody nice bloke Good luck with the sale dude, tho hopefully I can still have a little drool over it before it goes
16.
Have you ?
Well they're on here and Finnbass. To be fair I have hardly been pushing the sale Edit: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/229789-custom-wizard-84s-5-string-j-unused/page__fromsearch__1
17.
Wow! I have a set of Jazz pickups by him, I think I'll hang onto them , you never know how much they'll be worth in a few years.
Good luck, I've been trying to sell a pair for 5 months!
18.
Just imagine it 1/3 the size and that'll be what the 2x10 will look like I expect...
19.
you lot still at it? anyone seen a photo of these new cabs yet. Or would that get in the way of the thread??
Don't be daft, that's not what this thread is about (anymore)
20.
I agree, 100%, although, and I've raised this before, what is inherently wrong with wanting something to be aesthetically pleasing? This is not just aimed at this thread btw. Look at Apple products, they look sleek AND they work and, IMO, don't faff around like previous phones/PC's I've owned. Same with something like Aguilar. They LOOK great AND they sounds superb. I personally wouldn't buy many products if it was clear it was functionally brllliant, cost a lot of money, yet the aesthetics let it down. This is because there would be an alternative available that ticked all the boxes. I actually DO think the BF products look better. I'm keen to see how the recessed plates look now, and to see another cab in the flesh, so I'm not aiming this at any brand/product really....just generally!
Oh I want things to look good too, I happen to think the BF cabs look great with the silver cloth grille I also think the TKS cabs and the Aguilar cabs look great, and the Bergs, and and and.... This is based purely on photos so I'm sure in the flesh they're even better!
21. Personally, and I think I've already said this one in this thread, I think the fit and finish on the cabs has come a long way since previous generations, and frankly no-one in the audience gives a rats ass if it looks good up close because they can't tell. Again personally, I think my current rig looks the dogs dangly doodles and sounds even better. My band all agree 100%, plus they love the light weight JTUK, I think the old Compact was certainly never going to be a cab you could like based on what I have gleaned about your sonic goals, howveer I really do think a BB" or Super Compact may surprise you so try one one day if you can. Preferably at a gig, with your bass and amp because, as you will be the first to admit, your last experience seems to have been a bit duff because of the bass and amp as well as the cab...
22. Stop all this positive Walkabout talk, they sound like a fine back up for my valvey goodness and I can't afford one
23. I think the Gen 3 cabs really are a big step up from the previous BF cabs, but I was a big fan of the old Compact, S12 and Vintage cabs too. I don't like tweeters though JTUK, if you ever want to try a Gen3 SC (1x12) - purely for scientific reasons for your own (dis?!)pleasure - just shout. It would be interesting to compare them to your cabs because I've never actually used those so can't compare. I just know the SCs work for me
