1.
Thanks for all the suggestions so far...merton ive heard the iphone rig is no so good for bass, do you suggest otherwise?
Seems to work fine for me
2. Why not look at the GK app (assuming you have an iPod/iPhone/iPad) and an iRig interface? Does a brilliant job for me. MIght even be available on Android phone, no idea!!
3.
I have my ticket for Sunday, so see the rest of you there. Just checked and I have my lanyard so stop me and say Hi.
We've just switched to the Sunday after all that, so will see you there Dave
4. Just bought a ticket for myself, and two lovely bassy friends, so will see some of you there on Sat 1st
5. Don't change the speakers, waste of time and effort and you may end up worse off. Unless you can accurately model their behaviour in that enclosure and are confident of course....? Sell the combo, but a head and another 15, honestly it makes sense
6. Flog the combo, buy the equivalent head (WT550? Cracking amp, my favourite solid state head ever!) and buy a second 1x15 cab too
7. Yes: http://merton.bitd.co.uk/basses/2014lineup.jpg
8. Cheers! I am VERY happy with this little set up. Shame I have no gigs til March, but hopefully I'll get to rehearse and record with it next month
9. Here's my all-British hand-built set up, mwahahaha: Ashdown CTM100 2x Barefaced Super Compacts Status Retroactive J ACG Graft Recurve
10. Collecting my SCVs tonight, woohoo! Photos tomorrow
11. Definitely an early 90's 1528 you have there
12.
Let me mention jackduran's band Super 8 Cynics and their fantastic 80s flavoured pop. Here's their video for Doing What I've Always Done: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1ANUFGGeTQ
Love it So much talent on here, well done everyone!
13.
I would sell and buy a Bergantino CN212. Super light, great form factor, great for mids, tweeter.
But he wants two cabs as far as I can work out. Is there a CN112? Then you have the same suggestion but offering the two cab solution he requires
14. Can't see a topic here already so I best start the ball rolling with what a thoroughly bloody nice bloke Paul is, and what a pleasant transaction selling the Status Shark was
15. Sold Rob a Status Groove bass, absolute joy to deal with. Cracking example of a BCer
16. Bloody hell, cracking cab, silly low price! Bargainous
17. SOLD
18. FS: Status Groove 4 string SOLD PENDING PAYMENT £275 plus courier at buyer's cost I’ve always loved Grooves and found them to be incredibly comfortable and easy to play. Light as a feather (around 8.5lb I think) and a lovely small neck. Great sound from the single pickup (it is actually 3 J type pickups with the middle one reverse wired for hum cancelling, sounds very MM like), 2 band active EQ and an active/passive switch. I have actually been running it passive for a while now because I’m lazy with batteries. This has a fair few battles scars which I’ve photographed, the small crack in the neck joint is lacquer only I believe. Selling because I have an incoming ACG to fund. Will supply with a gig bag; currently strung with Status Halfwound 45-105s
19. Status Shark 5 String Limited Edition Seafoam Green with Pearloid Scratchplate Cracking bass, it has been my favourite ever since I bought it in early 2011. Very easy neck, light as a feather (around 8.5lb) and an absolute joy to play. Equipped with a single soapbar pickup and passive vol/tone controls, this really couldn't be easier to plug in and play. This is in pretty good condition for its age but there are some dinks on it, I have pictured almost all of them (there are a couple on the headstock of which I can't seem to get a decent photo, but they are minor and don't affect anything). The crack by the neck joint is just in the lacquer. £375 without a case or with a Hiscox liteflight case (Bass Centre branded) for £400. Courier to the UK included or at buyer's cost if further afield
20. Cheers, my friend is happy to pay postage I think. What would it cost? £10?
21.
The LB30 was never designed to be a gigging amp! Buy a CTM 100 or 300... Those are the giggable valve amps,,, ;-)
I concur. I love my new (to me) CTM100
Be careful when selecting cabs, just like a 70's SVT these amps chew up speakers, I reckon these will do them quicker. Speaker wise the best is probably the trusty eminence BP102, or something that can handle a good low range ie 3012lf not 3012ho
I think the BF cabs will be fine
22. All I'm saying is you questioned how a 1x12 could "beat" an 8x10 and suggested a placebo effect; I merely offered a reason as to why a 1x12 might be perceived to "beat" an 8x10 Edit: not sure I explained myself well in the first post on this matter
23. Might know someone who's interested, will let you know! Would you post?
