1.
but inevitably, in a Barefaced thread opinion will be stated as fact.
Unfortunately that happens in any topic both here and other forums. Try the P bass vs anything else debate...
2. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and frankly without different choices and views the world would be a dull place. It's just a shame BF seem to continually generate these stupid long love/hate threads. Build a bridge one and all, let's find something else to rant at each other about! So.... Ashdown... Wooly? Discuss
3.
While you are at it... get a decent website. I'd ask ...if orders are healthy, where the money is being spent, but hey, what do I care?
IMO the website is fine - clean, clear, easy to navigate. The only thing letting it down is product images, they do need to spend some time with a proper photographer getting that sorted. As for "where is the money being spent?" - what part of 2-1/2 year R&D exercise for Gen3 wouldn't have cost money, especially with their own drivers being prototyped and tested...
4. Sexy
5.
From a purely personal point of view I think seeing a BF in the flesh is really important - especially if comparing to a Bergantino. The quality of finish is leagues apart and really puts lots of people off. I genuinely can't understand why BF persist with the covering materials they use. I've never known a brand of speakers to get such a 'marmite' reception. People here on BC seem to love them but I meet so many people in the 'real world' who've bought some on spec and then sold them really quickly because they disliked them so much
I think the Gen 3 cabs will put all their previous efforts in the shade in terms of finish quality and sound (tone) quality. However the only way anyone can tell if a BF cab is right for them is to A/B it with their current (or potential) rig. Personally for me the finish on the BF cab is perfect for the abuse the cab gets from my bandmates loading in and out of the van, and the sound is what I've always been searching for, so I'm happy. I can totally understand others not being happy, and that is fine
6.
You need to see a Barefaced cab in the flesh and compare to your Bergantinos so you can make an informed decision before you buy one. As with all gear.
This man speaks sense
7. Yes played there a few times and got more next year. As long as you're sensible with the volume and nice to Helen (the owner) they'll be fine. They have a handheld dB monitor as opposed to a power-cutting limiter, the bar is way away from the (tiny, really tiny) stage area and they tend to concern themselves with the bar end. Hope that helps
8. Super Compact with vintage cloth grille, ordered a couple of weeks back, ETA November
9.
And AB have way more respect than Creed ever did... awful band.
AB deserve respect for being great
10. Always happens. Two weeks ago really wasn't looking forward to a gig, ended up being a cracker and I took a 22yr old girl home, haha! The week before the gig was highly anticipated and turned into a bit of a damp squib. Such is the way of the world
11. With Gen 3 they hope to have fixed this issue, but the feedback is vital for continuous product improvement. I have had to fix feet on a Vintage and my S12 so I understand the frustrations felt, but ultimately other brand cabs have fated no better in our van so I don't lay the blame only at BF
12. I'm keeping my S12T as well as getting a new Super Compact. Because I am a greedy bastard
13.
Instrumental Def Leppard tribute it is then.

Brilliant!

Quality answer!!
But technically incorrect. The drummer from Def Leppard lost his left arm
14. The new Trace 1518 cab is the best 15 cab they've done IMO, big bottom end with smooth mids and enough top not to need anything else (for my tastes). The Hartke will be fine with it
15. Whoops. I just sent Alex an email to talk about ordering a Super Compact with Silver grille. Let's face it, based on my experience of the prototype last year (with a ceramic driver) the description of the new Barefaced Neo driver sounds immense
16. Gutted to have missed it, sounds like an amazing day
17.
Me too Mert - was hoping to see you..
If I can persuade MiniMert to come along for a bit then I will put in an appearance but I doubt I'll be able to. He didn't mind about 30mins of slapping at the 2012 London Bass Show... That's a pretty good threshold of pain...
18. So it is. I just read Norm's post and didn't do the maths...
19. Gutted I'm missing this for the 2nd year in a row
20. 15 hours - you're probably getting too much sleep and that (oddly) makes you feel tired, too.
21. Bought an EBS IQ from Cameron, very pleasant quick transaction, cheers!
22. Having used both the MB500 and MB Fusion with the recommended GK gain settings and the more "conventional" way of setting things I can heartily recommend the more "conventional" method to being sonically more pleasing to me
23. When Skunk Anansie played at Brighton Dome earlier this year Cass' bass rig was having issues, again an all-valve head with mic'ed cab. However he DOES DI before the amp as well so despite him having a gig he's probably rather forget he just got on with it and the sound out front was still awesome
24. Drop the input gain back a touch along with the bass control and the contour ... ?
