  1. I use lemon oil for fretboards and polish the frets with Nail Buffer Pads. I picked up a few at a shopping centre when out with my young beauty mad daughter. They use them to polish and buff finger nails very gently! On frets they are amazing, do not damage the fretboard and make the fret wire highly polished and smooth !!
  2. Returning to bass and decided pick is for me ( again ) I was watching the Amazon doc about The Jam and I loved Bruce Foxtons tone and playing with a pick of course ! Most likely I will use Toretex Blue Triangle pics this time round on my PBass
  3. Cheers buddy 🤟🎸
  4. I have one of these enroute Player II series
  5. Having finished gigging nearly two years ago and selling off all my gear ( mistake number 1 ) I went back to playing guitar ( mistake number 2 ) Jammed with old band buddies and playing guitar I always felt I should be playing bass ! So a decision was made and a new Fender PBass Player II series, and MarkBass rig was put on order and arrives Tuesday ! My guitar stuff is up for sale ( haven’t got room at home for both nor the funds ) so I’m happy to say I’m a bass player again 😃
  6. Yeah I had thought if I lacked volume in the future a second cab would be a good plan For now for convenience a one small cab is all I need
  7. Hey folks I’m interested in anyone who is familiar with or using / have used the MarkBass LM IV amp and MB58R 102 Energy cab ? Do they match well and would they handle jam sessions / gigs ? with a single guitarist and drummer ? I had years back the LM III and the Traveller 102 cab and they sounded nice. I like how light they are in the MBR 102 Energy series and compact
  8. I’m 100% guitars now and all bass related gear sold Sadly not much activity on GuitarChat
  9. I wish you well Lozz As you know I packed it all in last year and sold up. Do I miss gigging ? Not at all as I think I’ve had the better years of gigging and it felt sad but very right to retire from it. I now own a couple of nice guitars and an Orange Combo amp and I jam with my old band buddies once a month on a Saturday afternoon! More fun than late night gigging for a few quid ! Im liking being back on the guitar but I do think fondly of playing bass. In your situation perhaps keep your hand in minus the gigs as I’ve done and being with your buddies jamming is as good as any gig in my opinion Wish you luck bud 🎸🤟
  10. I think the ABM series sound at their best when played loud and you have sussed the “ shape “ button Still great amps
  11. Another important point to make perhaps is your height and how good your hearing is or / and your band mates hearing !! As a tall 6ft 1” guy i never struggled to hear my Monaco sat on the deck and I was typically around 6ft away from it when playing. In a band especially loud bands many cabs ( Marshall 4x12 ) are very directional and play havoc with stage volume as a balanced mix if not going through a venue PA as example
  12. Another vote for the Keeley Bassist although I did find a couple from new that had noise issues. Drive pedals .. best I ever used was Darkglass Omicron. Awesome pedal that kept your bass still sounding like a bass !
  13. Just a guess but does the V7 have a headphone switch ? I recall Ashdown did this as well and it mutes the main speaker out ! Just a thought
  14. What about one of the Peavey amp heads ? Minimax I think it was called ? I used my ELF into a 2x12 4ohm cab with a loud rock band and it kept up nicely
  15. What I did watch I thought was very lack lustre and poor ( perhaps an age thing ) but with one or two exceptions I felt Glastonbury had sold its soul slightly
  16. I too had a Monaco and it was a great single cab gig rig Highly recommend
  17. Orange LBT is an amazing amp and can get gritty too if you crank the compression Terror Bass also a good choice I’ve never really liked pre amp pedals as i have always had an amp and good cab. Decent pre amp pedals nearly cost the same as a head these days but it’s the cab that’s make the difference
  18. Years back I had a USA PRS Custom which I did gig but started to leave it in its case and played a USA Strat instead for most pub gigs ! With bass I played live every bass I owned
  19. Sounds like you’re sorted and if you need to look again I think the Fender Rumble Combo 500w would be the way to go
  20. That’s pretty much my old rig Amazing amp but be careful as it’s very light ! I stuck four larger rubber feet on the bottom of mine and it never moved It has a great tone from the off and is very loud too. A good match with VK cabs 👍
  21. I was a T900 user and it’s true they are very uncoloured and loud They can offer warm and woolly too using one control to vary the amp sound I too used one with a Vanderkley cab and it was a superb pairing and best I had used .
  22. Boss Katana 100 GEN3 guitar combo As new condition with Boss cover Note this is a GUITAR amp not a bass amp Price includes U.K. courier shipping
  23. Hopefully a sensible price ? Looks good though
