Yep exactly .. the E string as 105 is a tad boomy so I’m thinking a 100 may help. I have tried it before but I can’t recall the outcome but it wasn’t bad I’m sure so maybe for convenience I went back to 45-105 ?
I tried the Fender Rumble 210 v3 and found it got farty very fast ! Didn’t rate them at all
Ashdown RM cabs are ok but not as nice as ABM Pro Neo ( couple for sale on here )
Decided to try dropping down a string gauge from 45-105 to 45-100 as I recall using them before and it offers a less boomy fundamental on the E string
Anyone using light gauge strings ?
Is there a bass that sounds like a Thunderbird yet isn’t the awkward shape and length !!
I love the look and tone especially pick played for rock but I’m seeking something with dual humbuckers and neck around 40 - 42mm and costs less than £750 !!
Actually I found the WL20 from Boss took some of the clarity away compared to a good quality cable
The Shure GLXD16+ didn’t have any change to the sound
I’m a cable hater as I’m always standing on them twisting them etc etc when playing
I have tripped over my leads several times in the years of gigging
Please note they are new with warranty for £499 at present for the V2
I’ve seen folk asking for £400 plus shipping which to me is too high
Mint condition unit I would pay around £325.00 shipped as it’s secondhand but not more and I’m not saying I would but folk need to be realistic about selling I feel
If it’s the V1 version it’s probably worth less as it’s an older design
Did use one with guitars ( cheap plastic thing ) but bass never just by hand and it works fine.
I think it teaches you better re-stringing if you take your time and do it by hand while watching the wraps on the tuning peg etc
I may just keep them as they look a handsome pair stacked and nice sounding rig. Very convenient having the extra four feet fitted to the ends for tall stacking and preventing damage when sitting them down on their end ( opposite side to single handle )
